Beautifully emotional

Susie Tate's stories keep getting better and better. Clara and Rafe's story was an emotional ride. Both narrators did an amazing job.

Worth Devouring!

I had so much fun reading this book that I devoured it in a single day. This story took me through the full spectrum of emotions. One moment I was smiling like a fool and laughing, and the next I was feeling tense, scared, and even tearing up. It’s one of those books that fully pulls you into the character’s world and makes you feel everything right along with them.

One thing I always appreciate about Susie Tate’s books is how inclusive and thoughtful she is with her characters. Clara has endured a significant amount of trauma, and her journey toward healing felt so meaningful. I am obsessed with a protective MMC but I especially loved how Rafe recognized what she needed and made a conscious effort to soften his usual demeanor around her. Watching this typically intense, protective man become gentler and more patient with Clara was incredibly touching… and hot! 🥵

Owen, Rafe’s son, completely stole my heart from the very beginning. He brought so much warmth and humor to the story and quickly became one of my favorite parts of the book.

I listened to the audiobook while following along on my Kindle, and it was such a fantastic experience. The book is narrated by the same narrators as The Wolf King, so you know it was incredible. Shane East’s accent never fails to ruin me and Zara’s performance going between Clara’s timid nature and her fierce protectiveness was phenomenal.

I’m already counting down the days until the next book, Deal Breaker. Poppy was one of my favorite side characters in this story, and I’m so excited that she’s getting her own book next. I cannot wait to dive back into this world!

Absolutely perfect narration

This book is absolutely beautiful in its depiction of domestic violence survivors. I loved the story, the characters, and the narration could not have been better.
