So...I was sick in bed for a couple of weeks...
...and I listened to many books between bouts of "terminal" coughing. Herein begins the critiques. This one was very enjoyable and kept me wanting for more on the fens.

Great writing & intricate plot
I love this book. The characters & the narration are excellent. There’s nothing predictable about it. The story and the plot drive forward with excitement great intrigue. Highly recommend this book.

A secret for Nikki
I am absolutely loving Nikki! This is another good read/listen in this series. Nikki is hard nosed but fair, gruff but tender.
Her dad left her with another case to solve but will she see him the same way after she does?

It's still personal
I do like the characters, and I hope to see them change and grow. When the next books become available I will continue with the series. Spoiler Alert: The story still gets personal with the criminals focusing on the main characters and surrounding co-workers and family. And there was one twist that made me think "What?" and "Why?" instead of "Wow!"

Hope more installments are to follow
I hope more installments are to follow. I'm enjoying this series. It's a police procedural with many twists and turns. The narrator did a fine job of bringing the characters to life. I recommend this book.

fabulous story
This story was both engrossing and spooky. i have not been so creeped out since I was about 8 years old hearing ghost stories told around a campfire. One of Joy Ellis's best.

Twists and turns
This is the fourth book I have read in the Nikki Galena series, and it was excellent! The author continues the development of the two main characters as well as other minor characters.
The ending was unexpected on a personal level for Nikki. Still wrapping my head around it! In terms of the plot it was full of twists and turns.
Having listened to this narrator throughout this series, I have enjoyed her. However I found in this story that it was more difficult to distinguish some of the voices from each other.
On to the next book in the series!
