Resumen del Editor

A case is made that so-called international law is law in name only and, moreover, that although bona fide international law is theoretically possible, it would not be desirable.

cogent and beautiful

What did you love best about International Law?

It was analytical and yet narrative, like a novel and a treatise rolled into one. i have never encountered anything like this, but now that I have, I'm wondering why other authors don't do it.

Who was your favorite character and why?

It was non-fiction; so there was only one 'character.'

Which scene was your favorite?

The discussion of infelicitous utterances.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Almost, but I like to stop every 20 minutes or so to consider what I've heard. Also, some parts of it are like poetry, and I like to listen to them over and over.

Any additional comments?

This guy is brilliant. But his book covers are alienating.

Autor doesn't believe in International Law

It is not a book to study international law, it is a book that explains why we don't have a real international law.
