Resumen del Editor

Note to self: Never make a deal with Blapy.

Everything has gone haywire. The world outside is falling to pieces, Ruwen’s gone missing, and Hamma has just accepted the worst quest ever devised by god or man.

Hamma thought she was getting information on Ruwen’s whereabouts, but ended up with a ticking time bomb. If she doesn’t complete the five-part quest line to become the Black Pyramid Priestess within two days, the penalties could have consequences for the entire universe.

Hamma has Lylan to help her, and she’s got 40 new levels under her belt, but to outplay Blapy, she’s going to need even more help. And who better than Blapy’s own monsters?

But these monsters have secrets of their own.

Hamma’s journey into the depths of the Black Pyramid might set everything right, or it might destroy her entire life’s mission, and her love life to boot.

She’s got 48 hours to find out.

Hamma’s Last Prayer is a stand-alone story that follows Hamma as she struggles to deal with Ruwen’s mysterious disappearance between The Sixth Rune and Shadow’s Seventh Step of the Divine Apostasy series.

Not a great companion novel

A little difficult adjusting to the new narrator. didn't care for some of her pronunciations like Ham-uh vs the original Ha-ma. But that all falls short of the story. Hamma gets carried through her quests by everyone else and continues to blame Ruwen. This book made me dislike Hamma

Nice side story

I had a little trouble at first adjusting to a different narrator. Once past that, the story took over and was a nice progression. I really love this series, so it was a good listen while waiting for book 8.

I really like this series but this one was fell short

I think this series is great but this narrator is so bad I returned the book. I can’t even listen to it. She doesn’t pronounce the main characters name right and is over performing. Just not a fan overall. I definitely recommend skipping this book and going right to the last book. Also this is the fist time I didn’t like a book/narrator so much I returned a book.

should have let Travis perform it.

Almost made it seam from a different universe different book. it would have been okay/ good if she was the original performer to hard to get used to the new voices.

I love what this book teaches

I don't care what people say, This book's moral premise is spot on. I loved the way it was taught and the story was great! the narrator did a great job in my opinion. it's hard to come into a series and try to revoice what's been already established. but I thought it worked out! but I'm a fan of Andrea Parsnea as well as Travis Baldree! it worked out great in my opinion. but don't take my word for it find out for yourself! I don't think you'll regret it.

Narrator cares more bout themselves than readers

Narrator is clearly focused on their own performance and desire to make something true to their way of doing things.

It would have been simple for this narrator to listen to just a few chapters of the Travis books so she could at least pronounce names the same and match some other elements to create a more consistent experience, but she chose not to.

The result is multiple mispronounced names, inconsistent voices, and inconsistent mannerisms.

I also feel as though she made Hama into a much worse character overall. Narrator makes Hama seem weaker across the board.

Blappys voice is horrid. Just absolutely terrible. almost unlistenable.

There's a lot of screeching sounds and a lot of volume variability in the performance. Her ding and stat reading sounds are also painful to listen to

Had this narrator performed the first book in this series, I'd not have continued past the first few chapters

As for the story, it's meh. It's clearly two women written from a males perspective. Some of their interactions just seem unbelievable. As in. I'm only aware of women acting like that in stories written by men about women. Never witnessed them acting like this IRL.

Shades First Rule: You only have Yourself to Blame

I don’t always listen to side story’s, but I love the overall series and didn’t want to miss possibly critical information in the 7th book. This is what led me to listen to Hamma’s Last Prayer.

From the start, it was hard to adjust to the new narrator. As I continued listening to the story, I grew more and more annoyed at the narration of Hamma and like many other listeners, grew to dislike her in certain ways. I also wasn’t a fan of completely different accents that well known characters were given and pronunciations of the names.

That being said, at some point I began re-imagining the actual story in my own head voice instead of the narrators voice which is what allowed me to finish this book. I’m convinced the story is really good, but the narrator made Hamma extremely whiny and self pitying which drives me insane. Every time Hamma spoke I just wanted to scream and slap sense into her.

The story itself was beautiful and gave depth to the Black Pyramid as well as the Companion herself, and the monsters living there. While the book had great moments, my favorite part was the last 20 minutes or so. The epilogue was almost more interesting than the entire book before it.

I can’t wait to listen to the next book, and hopefully many more to come! In the future, I’d personally prefer side story’s narrated by Travis instead of other narrators.

I love this series, although this is a side quest it is great to get to dive into this other prospectives. In hindsight we needed this earlier in the series aswell. I can’t wait till the next one.

I love the series, this one took a bit to get going

I really like the series, but despite liking her in the main story, the protagonist was super not relatable here, seeming paralyzed by every act that happened to her and in a perpetual meltdown. I was honestly kind of mad as I started reading, but it gets better after the first few hours and she grows significantly by the end. Honestly, it was like reading a caricature of a toxic female gaslighting her significant other for things beyond his control while simultaneously being too paralyzed by emotions to accomplish anything.

Something goes wrong? Crying. Get a choice of reward? Panic that there are too many options. Assign skill points? Panic that they may have been the wrong choice. Get a reward? So overcome she can’t even thank the person. She felt powerful and capable in the main books but took until the end of this story to return to that point.

Might just be because I’m used to the old narrator, but it also took a bit to get used to the new one.
