Opening the X-Files...

Meet Mulder and Scully, FBI - the agency maverick and the female agent assigned to keep him in line.

Their job is to investigate the eeriest unsolved mysteries in modern America, from pyro-psychics to death row demonics, from rampaging Sasquatches to alien invasions. These are the cases the Bureau wants handled quietly but quickly, before the public finds out what's really out there...and panics - the cases filed under "X".

A good storyline. Especially if you are an "X-files" follower. Recommend for light reading. Nothing deep.

Enjoyed the story

I found this thoroughly enjoyable. The novel manages to feel just like an episode of the television show. It kind of has a five-act structure where you can imagine the commercial breaks happen. The plot isn't fast-paced and the story is fun. It's interesting with a few twists and turns but not too many to ridiculously overcomplicate it. in short, if you like the x-files, especially early season episodes, you will like this book.

great episode!

I read a bunch of these back in the day but it has been so long that even through this is a reread I didn't remember any of the plot so it was like hearing it for the first time. I greatly enjoyed the tv show when it was on and I especially love Mulder and Scully and their partnership/friendship/relationship. This book doesn't quite encapsulate all that the show manages to. The writing felt stilted and the interplay between Mulder & Scully was not as well done as I am used to but having said that it was still a good case story. Plus getting to spend more time with one of my favorite duos is always a bonus.

A Nostalgic Journey

I loved this book somewhat overall I won't listen to it again thereis just too many cuss words in this book and they always say the GD phrase way too much it really offends me and hurts my ears because I'm a Believer in Jesus Christ and I don't believe it's right to say the Lord's name in vain so many times. they just did it too many times for no reason at all. Other than that the storyline was great just like a good old-fashioned X-Files episode. I just wish they would do a narrator for the guy parks and a narrator for the girl parts so that way we could have a female for Scully and a male for Mulder

Great Story Overall!!!!

The premise of the book starts out like an x-file but quickly loses the "x-file" feel. Mixed with worthless extra characters and a few missteps in the characterization of Mulder and Scully only gives the book an "okay" rating. The performance wasn't terrible but nothing to write home about either.
