This is so good! Both narrators do an amazing job. Duet is my favorite way to listen and this hits perfectly.
I was nervous for one of the tropes being miscommunication but if anything, I'd say it's more of a misunderstanding.

I have devoured everything Sloane wrote! And the jp from sports to this?!?! I never doubted her!!!! All her books are fast quick reads that I cannot put down until that last page!

I went in 100% blind only knowing he was a firefighter and books like are why I love to do that!

Callahan is a d*ck as Scottie called him over and over. And I am addicted to that! But the switch He made on that mountain? Was so so sweet while still having that sarcastic side. This man’s mouth?!?!!! Gagged!!!

I am one of the few who loves miscommunication. It’s realistic af in the real world and that’s why I feel many don’t like it.

Their banter was so cute!!!! I grew up where sarcasm was how we showed love so it was so refreshing!

OH MY GOODNESS! The story was soo good, this was the first book I’ve read by Sloan St. James and I’m obsessed! I love Cal and Scottie’s story. Kept me interested in the story the whole time, the handsome firefighter makes it easy too 🤭🫶🏼

The story!

Listen this is the first romance book that got me out of my book slump. I think the story was really good! It did move a bit fast in the beginning but it ended up at a good pace towards the climax and the end. I enjoyed this so much. There wasn’t too much spicy it was just the right amount. It didn’t focus only on the spiciness which is what I like in a romance book! It was about romance and living through trauma! I’m excited for the next book in the series :)

Callahan Woods!

Wait, this was super cute!! the plot line got going and it was predictable in parts, but still super satisfying. Parts felt cliched, but there were some unique elements to the story that I really enjoyed! Not sure I have ever read something so unique, this book covered topics that I haven’t seen used before. A portion of this read like a survival thriller almost, and that was enjoyable for me.
The detail put into us understanding medical and survival situations was much appreciated. The banter between characters was cute! I liked the reformed playboy development of Callahan.

Lots of spice scenes scattered throughout, I would have liked to see more conversation and getting to know the FMC/MMC for who they were as people, but for what this was, I really enjoyed it. I’ll be continuing this series!
