This was such a cute book! I absolutely ate this up! While I struggled with how Evie treated Jasper throughout the first part of the book it allowed for Jasper to shine and show his intentions, quiet support and love for both Evie and their son. Also I have never been a fan of pet names really but Jasper calling Evie Mama during their spicy scenes I have non idea why but it was so ungodly hot! I absolutely loved this book!!!

Sap & Secrets is book #1 in the Maplewood series. Jasper is an EMT with the fire department and gets a call for a woman giving birth. When he arrives, he's shocked to see it's Evie, a one-night stand he'd had several months before (and never forgot), telling him HE is the father! Only she didn't know she was pregnant due to a medical condition, so she is as shocked as he is. As these two navigate co-parenting a newborn, the slow-burn starts until these two are fire together! There is some suspense that is attached to Jasper's family farm/business and Evie has issues with her parents. But these two find comfort with each other, the town, and their cute little baby Vincent! I can't wait for Josh's story. Thank you, Ms. Elliot, for taking us back to small-town Vermont, for more fantastic characters, and another exciting series!

The duet narration was fantastic! Connor Crais and Vanessa Edwin were perfect to voice Jasper and Evie. Loved this duo. 5/5 stars!! 🌟

I love this book, it’s easy to fall for the characters. The narrators are top notch ! I enjoyed it from start to finish! I’m ready for book two!

Great start to a series!

This series started with a punch right out of the gate. Jasper shows up on a call to a woman in distress. Only to confirm she is in labor (which is a surprise to her). In her shock she reveals that he is the father. It is a wild, sweet, swoony ride from there.

If ever there were two people that just balanced and needed each other, it’s Jasper and Evie. Even in shock, these two were all in and putting their son first from the beginning. Their journey is not easy. Evie is closed off and has a tough exterior. She’s built up walls to protect herself from a toxic upbringing and she’s reluctant to trust. She’s sweet and fiercely protective of her son. Jasper is the youngest sibling of a large, boisterous family. He is willing to prove himself to Evie and everyone else. He is smitten with his son and it’s the sweetest thing. The patience he has with Evie while she works out her issues is unmatched. Evie blossoms and finds her strength with the help of Jasper. He shows her what family should truly look like. His siblings may tease or fight, but they love unconditionally and support without question.

Narrated by Connor Crais and Vanessa Edwin. This is a pair I will never get tired of. They blend so well together. Connor has that gruff, growly tone with is perfect for the protective Jasper but there’s also a tenderness and light heartedness to it. Vanessa’s sweet tone will melt your heart as Evie navigates her unexpected motherhood. You feel all her insecurities, but also that boss babe attitude and strength when she needed it.

This trip to Maplewood Vermont was a delight. This is a funny, sweet, spicy story with a quirky town full of characters. There are suspense and secrets still to be discovered, cheese wars, and a wonderful found family vibe. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
