Andie Burke
In Fall for Him by Andie Burke, seven-hundred-fifty square feet isn’t enough for the home-renovation-fueled hatred and the building sexual tension.
Dylan Gallagher’s hot neighbor loathed him from the second he moved in, and causing a flood, falling through the floor, and landing directly onto that same neighbor’s bed probably means that’s unlikely to change. The poorly timed “It’s Raining Men” joke didn’t help.
Meanwhile, ER nurse Derek Chang’s life is a literal when-rains-it-pours nightmare. A man he hates dropped into his life along with an astronomically expensive problem originating from Derek’s own apartment’s plumbing. Also, the local HOA tyrant has been sniffing around trying to fine him for his extended, illicit banned breed dog-sitting.
Since Dylan also wants to keep the catastrophe quiet, he offers to fix the damage himself. Dylan’s sure he’s not Derek’s type, so he focuses all his ADHD hyper fixation energy on getting the repair job done as quickly as possible—avoiding doing anything stupid like acting on his very inconvenient crush. Meanwhile Derek tries to ignore that the tattooed nerd sleeping on the couch is surprisingly witty, smart, and kind, despite the long-term grudge Derek’s been holding against him. But will squeezing all their emotional baggage plus a dog into a tiny one-bedroom apartment be a major disaster…or just prove they’re made for each other?
Fall for Him combines banter, hijinks, and heart in a story of finding out what it means to fix things after your life crumbles.

Reseñas de la Crítica
"With strong friendships, a full cast of delightful characters, and a story told from alternating points of view, this enemies-to-lovers and forced-proximity romance from Burke (Fly with Me) explores serious issues such as neurodivergence, alcohol-use disorder, toxic family expectations, forgiveness, and grief, while still being a steamy, humorous, and hopeful read."—Library Journal (starred review)
"FALL FOR HIM is the kind of rom com that checks all of the boxes. Two characters with real, relatable issues? Check! So much tension and banter? Check! The perfect combination of laughs and spice? Double check! Andie Burke's sophomore novel is a true triumph, a book I haven't been able to stop thinking about. It's safe to say I fell for this book and readers will too!"—Falon Ballard, author of RIGHT ON CUE
"Fall For Him is enemies-to-lovers perfection all wrapped up with a beautiful forced proximity bow. The chemistry between Dylan and Derek is sizzling and organic, and their love story will have you turning the page at lightning-fast speed. Andie's banter is god tier, her voice is a breath of fresh air, and I am a forever fan."—Lana Ferguson, USA Today bestselling author of The Nanny

I enjoyed the narrators, they were a good blend - something not always the case with duo readers. What I didn't necessarily love was the overly complicated premise. Advertised as hijinks, one expects the full rom-com treatment. And we more or less get it. There are a lot of moving parts, so many that I found mind wandering at times. Then I realized the problem, this is a fully realized chick-lit romance that simply dropped in a second guy, instead of woman love interest. Derek's fluster when his secret stash under the bed is discovered? Not something that would happen with two guys. Dylan's misunderstood sister? In the MF version of this plot, its the heroine's younger brother that no one will take seriously.
This isn't a bad book, but instead a reminder that romance, even MM, is aimed at women. I generally liked Dylan, but Derek was just wound up like a top, which was a lot to take in addition to Dylan's anxiety issues. There just wasn't enough down time for these guys to feel real or relatable. Also, I am always in search of diversity in a very caucasian dominated genre. Derek Chang was often a mass of stereotypes. On the long side at nearly eleven hours, you'll have to want it. Weeks after reading it, I am still ambivalent about a recommendation. it isn't bad, per se, but it feels like a book you've already read, but with a hole in the ceiling to try and trick you into thinking you haven't.
I wanted to like this more.
