Acerca de esta escucha

In Dracula's Child, Bram Stoker's classic is reborn. Capturing the voice, tone and style of the original, this novel is perfect for fans of Dracula and contemporary horror.

It has been some years since Jonathan and Mina Harker survived their ordeal in Transylvania. But shadows linger long in this world of blood feud and superstition - and the older their son Quincey gets, the deeper the shadows that lengthen at the heart of the Harkers' marriage.

Jonathan has turned back to drink, Mina finds herself isolated inside the confines of her own family. Quincey himself struggles to live up to a family of such high renown. There is darkness both within the marriage and without - for new evil is arising on the continent, and the vestiges of something forgotten long ago is finally beginning to stir.

But if a slow burn to start, but quickly accelerates in the second half. The narrator does a great job!

Solid story

basically a continuation of Dracula. Definitely a gothic slow burn but it pucks up at the end.

slow gothic burn

Beautifully written and imaginatively constructed. This was a
Joy to listen to, especially after registering to Bram Stoker’s original. The spirit of the original is maintained, and there are genuinely frightening moments, building toward the terrifying epilogue. Wonderful narrative acting. Truly a masterpiece.

Worthy sequel

A creative and unique continuation of a classic, masterfully narrated. the language was very much reminiscent of Dracula and the story well written.

Very well done

Interesting premise that is carried out wet my only complaint is that the character voices were too similar.

Pretty good story

There are so many things I enjoy about this, it’s hard to put them all in order. It felt and sounded exactly like a direct continuation of the original novel Dracula. Everything about it was well paced, the steaks were high, and the payoff was awesome. And the narration was perfect. Jonathan Keeble is always magnificent, but Emma Gregory was equal to him. A truly enjoyable listening experience.

A Worthy Successor to the Original

The performance was excellent. The story was very well written. I enjoyed it and I just noticed there is another spinoff called Lucy so I will be reading that. I don't think it's the same author but if the storyline is anything like this, it's gonna be a doozy.

Great continuation from Dracula

Written in much the same style as the original, but with wider range for the female characters. I really enjoyed it.

The narrators are fantastic!

As always Keeble has a great performance. But as for the story it’s is so slow to get rolling. Definitely a very classic vampire story.

A very slow burn

It was so bad I did not get past chapter 3. When will modern authors stop trying to place modern day agends and values in historical books. If you want to write about sex and homosexual relationships then either write about Modern times or come up with your original idea.
Do not take a classic and trash it up with modern day garbage. I am not saying that there was not sex and homosexuality in those time. I am saying that in the time Dracula was written it was not spoken of so openly in literature.
In fact sex was not something that was outright mentioned in the original classic, yet it was understood that the trance the victim was placed in was of the sexual nature.
Todays writers lack the talent to make a story come alive without crass, valgur trappings.
The original was so beautifully written and an amazing story. All done without resorting to sensationalized writing, no sex, no vulgar language, yet the story was a very sensual story.
If this had been an original story, I might have gave it more of a chance. When you choose to use another person's story to build your own, you owe it to the original author to keep the characters, style and quality of writing the same. In simple terms Dracula is a Rolls Royce and Dracula's Child is a scooter.

Horrible
