Would you consider the audio edition of Necroscope to be better than the print version?

yes and no, I love reading but I also dont get enough time to. Listening to the Necroscope book was awesome, I have read it a few times but listening to it brought a new element.

What did you like best about this story?

The way Mr Lumley writes is riveting, I listened to this 17 hour audio book in just under a week, I couldnt shut it off.

What about James Langton’s performance did you like?

He did well switching voices and characters, his accent helped the story along as well IMO due to it being mostly set in England.

Who was the most memorable character of Necroscope and why?

Harry Keogh! He is the master of all things, or will be. What will be, has been!

Come and get hooked

This book has long been in my top ten of books to read and series to have. I have a physical copy and have super enjoyed listening to the tale. The character voices were not quite what they were in my head, but I couldn't expect them to be.
When reading the book I was always annoyed when it would switch to a different character and then when it came back, I would be annoyed again, but when listening it all made sense.
This is a classic horror tale featuring cold war villans and british heroes, I would a like a few more female characters (but that happens in further novels).
This is a slow building tale that is well worth it.

Waited for so long!

Would you listen to another book narrated by James Langton?

I've heard several by this performer, and though I don't dislike him, neither do I think he fit the book as well as I had hoped.

I read these books years ago, and really enjoyed them, I'm thrilled that Audible finally added them to the catalog. I'm hoping the rest of the series is coming soon!

Better Than I Recall

Read it as a teen and barely got the plot line. Now, i get it and it’s a real pleasure of a read. Definitely appeals to the adult mind and one that is familiar with the social and political trends of the eighties.

Loved it....cant wait to start the next book

Rough start

A lot of nothing happened in this story and very few women with prominent roles

Great Storytelling from a Horror Classic!

Love Brian Lumley’s Necroscope series of books. This audio was very well done. The narrator did an excellent job of capturing the voices of the characters and bringing the story to life. My only reservation is for the graphic sexual content in the early part of the book which didn’t bother me much when I first read the novel as a youth but kind of stands out now as unnecessary. However that didn’t spoil the overall enjoyment of the story.

Thrilling and edge of your seat horror.

I had heard of these books a few times, mostly because i love interesting book covers. I wish i had actually picked one up and read it whenever i saw it instead of just looking at the covers. I don't think i can cover anything others haven't said, this book is a really good time from start to finish and sucks you in fast. That and the voice work here is great, with James Langtons narration pulling you smoothly through the book and all of the characters being done well.

I have a minor gripe or two with inconsistencies and oddities in the book but overall it was a very enjoyable journey and im eager to dive into the rest of the series.

listening to this brings back memories. great book and even more great series. lumley is a great writer, him and king are my favorite and top notch.
