Do you believe in hate at first sight?
Dixon
If I had to choose one word to describe my new cocky costar, it’d be exasperating. Nikolas Adamos may look like a Greek god—and he certainly struts around like he knows it—but unlike everyone else, I refuse to fall prey to his charms.
Unfortunately for me, Niko and I get paired to do a series of lovey-dovey boyfriend videos for our employers at Elite 8 Studios. And when you film the sort of scenes we do, up close and personal takes on a whole new meaning.
I may have to play nice while the cameras are rolling, but off set, it’s another matter entirely. So what if our chemistry is off the charts? That doesn’t mean a thing. Nor does the tender look in Niko’s eye when we’re together under the lights.
Because I know the truth. Nikolas Adamos revels in riling me up. And even though my pesky friends think I need fireworks after a string of fizzled relationships, I have no doubt if I allow myself to get any closer to my new fake boyfriend, I’ll only end up burned.
Dix is a grumpy/sunshine, one-sided enemies-to-lovers romance with hate at first sight, forced proximity for two costars who work between the sheets, banter and snark galore, plenty of industrial-sized lube, and one very HEA. It’s book 1 in the Elite 8 Studios series, featuring characters that were introduced in Virgin Hearts (Plum Valley Cowboys Book 2), but can be listened to as a standalone.

only caveat is that while this isn't a poly romance, and the MCS are monogamous outside of their work in p0rn, they both do still film with other actors. While I personally prefer my romances to be fully monogamous, in this case, the way the characters talked about it, explained it and felt about their job worked for me.
Grumpy/Sunshine sweethearts, who just happen to be porn star coworkers

Nick Russo is easily in my top 10 of narrators. He was perfectly cast for every character, EXCEPT one - the title character. Dix is the main character and the cover model was perfectly cast based on how the character is written. HOWEVER, Nick is NOT Dix. I was consistently distracted by Nick's voice contrasting with what this character looks like (cover) and is written like. *sigh* I wish that more Black narrators were cast for these roles. Sometimes, the way the characters in other books are written or the type of voice the narrator has, I can suspend belief enough for it not to matter as much. In other cases, like Dix, it's so very distracting.
I enjoyed this story, but... 🤷🏾♂️
Very Sweet Take on a Spicy Premise, but...

Dixon & Niko

This book starts with... well... with Dix being not his usual self, let's just call it that. He meets Niko, and he decides that he instantly hates the guy. He's too happy, too chipper. How can someone be like that? Ahh, and my fav? He's like a peacock. Funny.
Anyhow, their story kinda starts backwards if you ask me, but I think it works best for them. I think this gave Dix the time to process what was happening to him and come to his own conclusions before shutting down or starting to build 50m tall walls around his heart.
Niko was a delight. He is a gem, and I love him for not giving up on Dixon, not even for a second. He patiently ( or not so patiently sometimes ) waited for his grump to give in and see what's in front of him.
Them together are delicious. One is sunshine, and one is a grump. One is sweet while the other is not. They are the perfect combination. I think they balance each other perfectly, and I'm happy they found each other. Dixon needed someone to accept and love him for who he is, and Niko was that person.
I started reading this series with Felix, which means I already knew Dix & Niko were already together, but I'm glad I got to come back and see how that happen, experience them falling in all and all that.
Btw, if you are a fan of audiobooks, I highly recommend this one. I loved it.
10/10 - highly recommend. 😍💗
