Resumen del Editor

Our planet is more mysterious, more miraculous, more wonder-filled than we may think. This intriguing compilation of documented stories of divine guidance, healing, and miracles received by people past and present provides compelling evidence that something beyond what we can perceive with our normal senses is at work: an invisible power that has shaped and changed individuals - and the world.

Mighty warriors, innocent children, illiterate shepherds, brilliant poets: all offer unique tales of simple truths and life-altering insights that have changed them, and us, forever. Here's just a few of those you'll meet:

  • Alvar Nuñez Cabeza de Vaca, a Spanish conquistador who turned from conqueror to a healer of lives and souls
  • Buckminster Fuller, who escaped his personal financial abyss to become one of the world's greatest architects
  • Muhammad, the camel herder whom God commanded to be the prophet of a new religion: Islam
  • Walt Whitman, who was mysteriously transformed from hack to writer to poetic genius
  • Joseph Greenstein, who grew from sickly child to superhuman
  • Bill Wilson, whose battle with alcoholism led him to found Alcoholics Anonymous

Their stories, with all the others in this program, demonstrate the power of faith in the face of death, illness, insurmountable odds, or simply the unexplained. Through their experiences, the world becomes a divine realm, we become its angels, and we learn that miracles exist for all to see - if only we open our eyes.

    Define:Divine

This book is "OK" if you're looking for something that treats all religious experiences, religions and spiritual experiences equally. If you're "new age" then this book is sure not to disappoint, but I had some issues with putting Edgar Cayce, Bill Wilson (of AA fame), Muhammed and a pretty broad group of other folks all in the same collection. I was expecting stories of "miraculous events", and got instead profiles of people that had been "touched by the Divine".
It's OK, so far as it goes, but I don't personally believe that Edgar Cayce was on the level, which weakens the experience for me....
