Resumen del Editor

Two-time New York Times best-selling authors Roger Connors and Tom Smith show how leaders can achieve record-breaking results by quickly and effectively shaping their organizational culture to capitalize on their greatest asset - their people. Change the Culture, Change the Game joins their classic book The Oz Principle and their recent best seller How Did That Happen? to complete the most comprehensive series ever written on workplace accountability.

Based on their earlier book Journey to the Emerald City, this fully revised installment captures what the authors have learned while working with hundreds of thousands of people on using organizational culture as a strategic advantage.

Results Pyramid

It was nice to hear and read about similar core values and principles I had already, believed in, were part of a system and ultimately the results Pyramid. A nice follow up to the OZ Principal book, and the next step in the approach to accountability.

Excellent

One of the great books ever written with a detailed blueprint on how to optimize culture, accountability and results.

Not enough information

This might have been a better book for me to have in hand. I just couldn't get over the fact that it would say "this is how you need to do _____" and then no detailed explanation or even a hearty example was given. I get the difference in types of experiences, but the very short and unrealistic experiences given as an example just fell flat. There is no way I can even remotely begin to compare those to my current career. As mentioned before, it probably would have been better for me if I had the book in hand. There was a lot of very useful information and I'm glad I made it as far through the book as I did however, it was getting harder and harder to listen while driving in downtown traffic after long days at the office. I will probably try again with the bound version.

A little much

There was too much reference to the C1 or C2 or B3 etc - it for a little confusing and I made a copy of the chart pyramid to go back and quick reference while studying. I used it as a weekly review in my managers meetings. Each week a different manager reviewed the next chapter. We are implementing the things we learned and it had good content- just too much reference to the 'letters-#'S' and not enough of the word itself for repetition.

Redundant. Takes forever to get to the point.

What did you like best about Change the Culture, Change the Game? What did you like least?

The author spends so much time telling you about his first book it makes you wonder why he bothered to write the second one. After reading the second one I had to wonder if the first one was all fluff too.

If you’ve listened to books by Roger Connors and Tom Smith before, how does this one compare?

I have not.

Have you listened to any of Lloyd James’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Don't know.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Definitely not.

Any additional comments?

There is something to learn here but this book was written to extend the revenue stream from those who read the first book.

A great overall guide on how to attack culture change

This book gives the how to tackle changes to cultural issues. It is an excellent resource for those who struggle with the actual implementation, creation, and sustaining of any culture change movement. It is an easy listen for anyone who is very analytical, those who are a bit more creative may struggle at following the book while listening, I suggest purchasing for them for easier reference.

Interesting, good narration.

Not nearly as confusing as some reviews are making out! You have Actions (A), Beliefs (B), Culture (C), Experiences (E), and Results (R). Then you have '1' as the 'before' state and ’2' and the 'after' state. That's it. I thought the book was interesting and well narrated, and certainly worth reading if you are considering embarking on culture change in your organization.
