Resumen del Editor

Detective Superintendent Roy Grace is caught up in the murky world of human trafficking in Dead Tomorrow, by award winning crime writer Peter James.

The body of a missing boy is dredged from the seabed off the Sussex coast, missing vital organs. Soon after, two more bodies are found...

A teenager in Brighton will die if she does not receive an urgent transplant. When the health system threatens to let her down her mother takes drastic action and goes to an online broker in black-market organs. The broker can provide what she wants, but it will come at a price.

As Roy Grace investigates the recovered bodies, he unearths a gang of child traffickers operating from Eastern Europe. Soon Grace and his team will find themselves in a race against time to save the life of a young street kid, while a desperate mother will stop at nothing to save her daughter's life...

Although the Roy Grace novels can be listened to in any order, Dead Tomorrow is the fifth thrilling title in the bestselling series. Enjoy more of the Brighton detective’s investigations with Dead Like You and Dead Man's Grip.

Now a major ITV series, Grace, starring John Simm.

Author took Way Too Long To Tell The Story

I like a long book but this one went into so much unnecessary detail the story became dull. Only the excellent narration kept me from giving up. I am reading the complete Roy Grace series but my advice to anyone else doing the same would be to skip this one...you won't miss a thing.

Great story

Great story! Maybe the best so far. There was less of Grace's personal story and more detail on the organ harvesting and transportation. Very riveting! It almost read like it should have a countdown clock running in the corner like some older tv thrillers would have. Quite a timeline.

We were introduced to great characters and we, at least I, cared for them.

I liked the fact that the author has cut back on using the exact same words for descriptions-what's in his office, what the PM room looks like, etc.

Narration was spot on.

James never disappoints

The story wasn’t as compelling and the first 4 in the Roy Grace Series, but it was still brilliant. The characters are fantastic and you get to know all of them more through each book. David Bauckham seems to get flack from some listeners, but his performances are exemplary. Well worth a read, even if it is just to catch up on the lives of Roy, Cleo, Norman and Sandy

Great performance & characters

The female characters I found a little grating but overall very enjoyable. Looking forward to the Sandy story developing.

The best so far of the Dead... series

I have now listened to 3 of Peter James's books with Roy Grace as the detective. I enjoyed this one, Dead Tomorrow, the most. I really enjoyed the varying plots, and the pace of the book. I would definitely recommend this book the most so far.
Great reader. Sounds so much like Neil Gaiman (at least to me).

Put Down That Phone and Pay Attention!

I enjoy reading reviews, I usually don’t write them but here I am. I finished this book several days ago and I am still annoyed at two of the characters so I have to vent. The major premise of the story was excellent, organ donation needs to have more public awareness. My issue is with that RUDE and self absorbed Kaitlyn. Yes, I know she is sick but that does not mean she has lost basic manners when dealing with people. How she treats her mom is one thing, but how she treats the doctor and other professional she meets is astonishing. Also, if I heard her mother say “darling” one more time I was going to put cement in my ears. The end almost came as a relief.

Good story...with a few loose ends

This was a good book overall. The story started off a bit slow but picked up after a while. I felt like some loose ends needed to be tied up. I don't want to leave any spoilers but I wanted to know more about the resolution of some of the main characters.

Long winded - excellent story.

Peter James is an excellent story teller however he tends to waffle in the beginning of his books too much detail about each character. The story only seems to come alive after chapter 80.

Good plot

The plot is enjoyable - with enough twists and surprises to keep you intrigued. Unfortunately the narrator misses the feel of the book and detracts from the enjoyment thereof.

terrible narrator

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I was unable to finish listening to the book because of the narrator. He sounds like a train spotter & should not be allowed to perform another book.

Would you be willing to try another book from Peter James? Why or why not?

I love Peter James & will listen again with a different narrator.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of David Bauckham?

Stephen Fry, Roy Dotrice, Simon Vance, Anton Lesser or John Curless

Was Dead Tomorrow worth the listening time?

All his books are great, I wish I could get all the way through. I may have to buy the paper edition instead.
