THE STORY

Out of options, Ufthak leads his Waaagh! through the mysterious webway, to a place where kunnin’, sneakin’, and thinkin’ are the name of the game. A place with little truck for muscle and brawn – Commorragh, the Dark City.

Here, where kabals and haemonculus covens pump psychic viscera into the warp, Ufthak is thrown into gladiatorial combat and soon finds himself up against an archon who will stop at nothing to prove she deserves to rule the Dark City – even if it means bringing Commorragh down around her.

But the Drukhari are about to discover that while orks may be simple, very little about them is ever straightforward.

Ufthak Blackhawk, Da Zoggin Genius

Ufthak gloriously returns to wreak havoc on an invitation to Comorragh gone horribly wrong (for the Dark Eldar). However, it's not quite as funny and fun as Brutal Kunnin'. A part of me isn't sure if that is due to the narrator. Harry Myers is indeed skilled at narrating (Ork voices especially), but his cadence and tone is a little too regular and controlled. His performance unfortunately ironically robs a little of the madcap silliness Tom Allenby had in Brutal Kunnin, or Putnam's virtuoso multi-Ork performance in Ghazghkull: Prophet of the Waaagh. Still a good buy, worth a credit, but overall not as fun as previous.

A fun romp through the dark city

This was a fantastic sequel to Brutal Kunnin. The voice actor was also a far better fit for Orks this time and I hope he does far more voice work for the Orks in the future. If you like Orks I strongly recommend picking this one up.

exceptionally fun

Brooks provides tremendous fun with subtle nods to commentary without bashing your brains out with ideology. he's a treasure.

Da big dakka ain’t always da best. But iz rite Shooty dow!

First of all this is a squeal to both “Brutal Kunnin” and “Warboss” and the Black library celebration book of 2024 (not need if you can’t score a copy). It is a lot of fun, but is a slow burn at the start. But as it goes on, the orks are a blast to listen too. The spiky gitz are as well, but if you’re not a fan of cloak and dagger stories. Thier part drags a bit. Great story for the Orks tho!

Good fun. Grimdark goofy

Mike brooks does 40k comedy right. This trilogy is fun while not removing an ounce of menace from the setting. His other -more traditional- titles give Dan Abnett a run for his money

love the Orks being Orks and having fun. I would recommend this book. Loved it.

It's krumpin' time

Easily one of the best W40K books, Mike Brooks did a stellar job, and Harry Myers brought the characters alive in propa Orkish fashion, as usual. TekWaaaagh!

kudos to narrator.

The narrator ate this book up! Performance was AAA , story was simple (it's orks) and fun. I enjoyed this one.
