Excellent narration, pedestrian storyline.

The narrator carried this fairly bland story to its conclusion. In fairness, it was fun to see the Tyranids pitted against the Emperor’s Children.

A good book

It is a fun read, although it gets very slow in the middle. That makes sense. But the motivations of a few characters just fail to make any sense and annoy me a bit. Otherwise good throughout.

Solid book but too long

Was a good book but it was much longer than necessary. Great voice acting as always. Story was solid but stretch on at parts. Characters were cool but some of them disappear halfway only to reappear for the very ending.

Very fun.

First off, because of the title i hope this means we are getting similar books for the other three chaos gods.

Secondly, this book is very fun. It gives us an excellent look into a smaller chaos war-band, the type you hear about that splintered off from even medium sized bands. The cast of characters is where this book really shines, with a good mix of space marines and civilians of all stripes.

Every character's point of view of the adored landing on sirenne is interesting and it doesn't ever feel like you are spending too much time on one character.

The narration is spot on, really no complaints there.

I have a few minor gripes (Gun malfunction as a way to save characters happened too much, for instance) but i was pleasantly surprised by this book.

Perfection

This is a perfect chaos space marine novel. It gives off Nightlords trilogy vibes that digs into the philosophical side of the 40k universe. An absolutely fantastic look into the depraved minds of the most sadistic, prideful and depraved of the Chaos Space Marines.

Solid 4-star

Fun book with references and appearances of characters we love from the Emperors Children. The moments of demon and tyranid insight are the peaks of the book for me. Conclusion was written on the wall for any vet of 40k so the ending wasnt 4-star, more like 2. Would read if youre like me and want to consume background material for any faction. Would not read if youre looking for a mini-series or if you are a fan of other Emperors Children protagonists.

Holy hell this book is good!

Love this book! The Emperors Children rocks hard 😁 Awesome look at the inner workings of the third legions workings and a set of characters that's not boring 😊

An almost perfect story

I don't really believe in perfection, it's just a recurring line from the book. I really enjoyed this one and its narration. My only complaint was that the amount of side stories happening makes it a bit difficult to keep track of who's who at times.

Fun single read

Great if you don’t want a long winding narrative to keep up with. Xantine is an amazing character that you want to root for despite what he is and does.

Brotherhood and betrayal

Before I being this review I will just mention that there is some audio jank in this recording, sometime a sentence is read sounding like it came for an unrefined version of the recording.

With that being said I adore this book (pun intended). This is a new great story about a chaos warband and like many other stories about evil characters it is filled with interesting broken characters trying to be a brotherhood and yet ever seeking to advance thier own positions.

It is a great story with many different enemies for the Adored to face and some great lore drops as well, has Fabius Bile actually managed to crack the primaris gene?

It is hard mention what is great about this book without give away a spoiler. And I should mention that I am a massive CSM fanboy, so yes this is a very biased review. Listen to the sample! If you like it you will love the rest of the book.
