When the aliens evolve, so does the threat against humanity in this thrilling sequel to Scorpio that finds Alex Archer in an epic battle of survival against the odds and the alien invaders.

Alex Archer is a soldier now, the only civilian survivor from Scorpio to join the NAC Defense Corps. With their training complete, Alex and her friend Private Isa Cressey find themselves on emergency combat deployment with their new unit. The destination is the Alpha Corvi system, where an allied warship has vanished. Alex can guess why.

Her fears prove true—Alpha Corvi is under new ownership. Alex must face the monsters from her childhood again as her regiment mounts a rescue operation to find and save the planet’s colonists. But this time, there is something terrifyingly different about their enemy. The Corps has evolved to meet the threat, but the Lankies have adapted as well—and they are more lethal than ever. What began as a rescue turns into a desperate fight for survival for Alex and her new friends, stranded on a hostile world forty-nine light-years from Earth. And the only way home goes right through the Lankies.

Like a lot of Mr. Kloos' novels, this feels a little short, but the story is engaging and interesting. It's a good "realistic" sci-fi novel where the characters feel like genuine humans. The performance is good, but a little bland when speaking as various characters. I'm looking forward to the next entry or a new novel in the Palladium Wars.

A good return to the Frontlines series

A much better return to the universe than the last installment in the series. Really reminded me of some of the earlier frontlines books.

Better than the last one

A whole book is more story than an entire season of a TV show. So, for Mr. Kloos to come up with so many books in the origianl Frontlines series and then continue the story in a new series is a real achevement. He has created new, athentic characters that we can identify with as much as we did with the main characters in the first series, keeping the action, thrills, and drama fresh and glamorous at the same time. A lot of series by other authors start to feel stail or repeative after the fourth or fifth book, but these don't. They keep stepping up to keep the reader engaged and statififed. The set up for the next book sounds fantastic and I know he will deliever something great.

Everything we wanted and a little more

It was a bit whiny. Most characters complaining too much. Besides that overall it was good.

I like the older characters were added in to the story

In this follow-up book to 'Scorpio' by Marko Kloos, the action is even more exciting. I like military action, especially against an invasive species like the Lankies. 'Corvus' introduces several very creative situations to the newly vetted recruits of the Spaceborne Infantry. It was difficult for me to put this book down. Thankfully, there is an audible book performed by Arielle DeLisle that captures all of the excitement of the excellent writing by author Marko Kloos. I do caution you that, like many military adventure books movies, the profanity far exceeds the need. And, like 'Scorpio,' the lead character is female. Just be aware if you play the audible version, be aware of your surroundings. -Mr.Bill

Very talented Arielle DeLisle, performance is excellent.

If you haven’t read any of the other Frontlines books. This is a great place to start. It gives all the basics. Introduces you to the characters. And you don’t need to read the slow book one of this series. A nice story of humans vs aliens book.

A great starting point

Science fiction at a most entertaining level- Klooe ties in prior books and the narrative

Great story line and characters building

Marko Kloos is a master at writing a tense, tight scene and amazing, relatable characters. I was absolutely hooked the entire way through this story. The cameos from the frontlines series are also A+. I can’t recommend this book highly enough.

Excellent storytelling

I have wondered how this series would progress for a bit and the addition of Alex is great for the Front lines series. The physical books are already in my store. can't wait for the next one.

Love this series! Each book is better than the last.

I quite enjoyed this installment. It rode a line between the stoy of a young woman growing up in peril and the universe we have read so much about. The story could stand on its own, but is best read with the background instilled through the previous ones. It also brought a new flavor and perspective that will make future installments that much richer. as always the highest praise is, I want more. More stories with her and the characters from the main thread as well.

A worthy story in a familiar universe
