The time is now. Ever since he first set foot in Liora, Charles had to suffer the Tradesmen's criminal practices, but now is the time for him to strike back and take them down for good.

But as our dear Champion gets ready to make his move, his plans are smashed to bits. While he counted on his trading with Liskoa to bring him the money needed to fund his retaliation, he can only watch as a pirate ship sinks one of his vessels, cutting off the cash coming in.

As it turns out, those pirates received their orders from a city under Tradesmen management. Willing to investigate the matter, Charles decides to pay the place a visit. Maybe there's a way he can sway the guildmaster and get him in his pocket, just like he did with Tanders.... His hopes quickly vanish when he finds that two factions are really governing the city, and none is interested in challenging the status quo. Thankfully, not all is lost.

Join Charles as the borders of his small empire continue to expand, threatening to gobble up that of an allied force. Join him as yet another advisor slot opens, allowing him to finally appoint a Spymaster and create an intelligence network to help him subvert his enemies.

Still love the books! The tradies are destroyed and shit is about to get real!

Great series so far

I was hesitate at first because the books were free, but I love the series! So far this had made its way into my top 5 favorites! Excited for the rest!

Excellent narrative, a LITRPG that differs well

An engaging series, with a pleasant twist. How Charles develops is surprisingly fascinating. These books somehow reduce my stress, and that is worth four stars, but it earns the stars on its own merit. Excellent narrative.

listened to the whole series and really enjoy it. great characters, great voice acting, just an all around great series

Really liked this one!

This series is turning out to be interesting! There is travel to other lands, quests from the gods, several new races introduced, a strong main character that is fully and believably coming into his own. I'm excited to see where the series goes.

Winning the war

Everything has been leading up to this, and Charles finds himself suddenly on the verge of openly declaring war on the tradesmen.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the growth aspect of this book. Not nearly as much fighting as my normal fare, yet just as enjoyable.

Still a good listen

This book in the series is still an interesting listen but the series' mercantile focus has become somewhat predictable, even given Neil Hellegers' excellent performance.

I will pause this series here and keep it in mind when I find myself unable to find any interesting titles.
