Mark is Home!

This book was 1000% worth staying up till 1am for - no regrets. 10/10 recommend. Sierra Simone gave us an epic conclusion to the Lyonesse series. Getting into Mark’s was everyrhinf I hoped it would be.

You will go through the all the emotions and the hangover is real!

Impeccable Final Chapter

The Lambs have waited an awfully long time for the final book in this story, and Sierra Simone - as usual - did not disappoint. Bitter Burn is spicy, angsty, action-packed, guilt-ridden, and all the things one expects from her incredible books. I devoured it on the edge of my seat!

So incredibly hottttt

By far one of the best series I have listened to! The erotica is so spectacularly written. While I normally lean on the darker sides of smut, this was absolutely a book I would not only recommend to everyone but one I would listen to again!!! As a practitioner of BDSM and D/s in my everyday life, I have a huge appreciation for the accuracy in kink as well as the sensational way Mark cared so much for his pets. Safewords, check ins, aftercare, alllllllll the amazingness!!!!!

Enjoyed this conclusion to the trilogy. I was very curious to see what Simone was going to do with these characters especially, as it can be so annoying and dull. But the twist and turns kept on coming, in unexpected ways and I really enjoyed the way things unfolded. If you like dark, complex characters and lots of hot poly kinky love— Go for this one. Not for people who are vanilla or have hangups about sex.

FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT

Jacob Morgan as Mark is a dream in the audiobook. The emotion he brings to the character is truly unmatched. I'm usually a victim of my own ADHD and can't finish listening to a book if I also have the book (so I go read it fast and leave the audiobook unfinished) but in this case .. I considered it an insult to read it when I could be listening to Jacob Morgan. The story itself is already amazing and no one can write about kinky sex as eloquently as Sierra Simone. Calling this book smut is like calling Venus de Milo porn. Strongly recommend listening to afterword and the interview at the end.

A Great Ending to a Great Reimagined Retelling

I honestly don’t have much to say beyond how beautifully Sierra ties this story together: from plot, to characters (with an s) development, to the lyricism and mysticism that run through every page.

Do not read the Author’s Note before finishing the book, BUT definitely stop there afterward to appreciate the sheer research, planning, and thought poured into this series. It’s rare, it’s intentional, it’s brilliant.

And of course, shoutout to the King of Angst and Yearning himself, Mark brought to aching, magnetic life by Jacob Morgan.👑

Incredible

🩷This story! This author🩷 what an amazing end to the trilogy. Everything comes together in the end. However, the journey to get there had so many unbelievable twists and turns. The way the tragic story of Tristan and Isolde was changed to provide a HEA Miss Sierra Simone how do you do it? Mark, Mark, Mark how did you do this all? As we love New Camelot Lyonnesse is the flip side of that coin and just as amazing. Isolde, Tristan and Mark were a tangled web of what’s right and wrong. This weaves such a magical power of us. I cannot say enough about this. And the narrators were just as special as this story. Thank you Sierra for this gift of your words.

Absolute Masterpiece!

Bitter Burn on the printed page is a hard-to-put-down, thoughtful, creative, suspenseful, romantic, heartbreaking work of art. Thank you, Sierra Simone, for bringing this series to a close with your usual genius. But the amount of inner turmoil, expression, and life brought to the characters in this audiobook production by these three narrators was truly amazing. Oscar Reyes and Isabelle Ruther have been consistently impressive across the series. But I have to single out Jacob Morgan, who BECAME Mark Trevena, allowing us inside this very complicated character’s mind and soul and taking us on a physical and emotional journey of growth and understanding with him. His range in portraying Mark, allowing us to empathize with this morally gray character, was matched by his detailed and distinguished portrayal of Cashel and other characters.

Absolute perfection from my favorite author

The conclusion to the Lyonesse trilogy is absolute perfection. This book left me speechless. Sierra Simone took her time building to this moment across three books, and it paid off in every possible way. Mark's POV was finally front and center, and getting inside his head was devastating and beautiful and everything I needed. The revenge plot, the secrets, the trust issues, all of it comes to a head here, and Simone doesn't hold back. The emotional intensity of this book is unreal. I cried, I held my breath, I fully lost it multiple times. The way these three characters fit together, the way they hurt each other and heal each other, felt so raw and real. And the heat? Still next-level. This series has become one of my all-time favorites, and Bitter Burn is a masterclass in how to end a trilogy. Sierra Simone is my favorite author for a reason. If you've been following Mark, Tristan, and Isolde, this finale will absolutely wreck you.

Great Ending!

I wish this had been duet instead of dual. There are times listening to female portray male or vice versa takes away from the experience.

It starts out a bit slow but it gets so much better. I do LOVE Mark. Chapter 28 is just over the top, OH LA LA! Great series!

I also love the crossover story with Max, Ash and Greer.

At the end we get a Ryan Bell sighting!
