Sierra Simone is my favorite author! Her stories, her spice, it's all phenomenal. Pair that with the amazing narration that this audiobook offered and I was HOOKED! I HIGHLY recommend this bundle! It's quite the bang for your buck. :)

A great collection

Sierra Simone does it again. I loved the stories of Julian and Ivy, as well as Silas and Molly. They were steamy, frustrating, relatable, and full of highs and lows for the characters. The spice was superb, as always.

I think these stories had great backgrounds and I loved the historical side.

More than i expexted

I have never been one for historical romance but this series had me pleasantly surprised . Characters were interesting and spice was spicing . Narration was very good and the female narrators were new and enjoyable for me .

Spicy Historical? Yes, Please!

Ivy Leavold's novellas audio review (single & dual narration): So let’s talk audio performances of the Ivy Leavold collection (novellas 1-3). Zara Hampton Brown... amazing!!! Give her her freaking flowers! This was my first time listening to her (& Shane East, but I’ll talk about him later) & holy moly, she’s incredible! Add her to the list of fave narrators because her performances are brilliant. She narrated 2 of the 3 novellas solo & you really couldn’t tell because she used so many unique voices & performed the emotion flawlessly. Plus, Ivy is this reserved character that *ahem* “blooms” as the series progresses & Zara did a stellar job capturing this too. (And, not gonna lie, her Mr. Markham voice is fantastic too. 😂)

Ok, now, let’s talk Shane East. I’ve followed him on Instagram for a minute now & I really like the safe, welcoming space he’s created over there, so it’s about damn time that I finally picked up something of his. He dual narrated the final novella (& novelette) of the series & goodness gracious! 😮‍💨 He definitely captured that whole “broody gentleman in a kinda creepy manor” vibe that makes up Mr. Markham/Julian. And yes, the, um, spice, was great...😏 (but let’s not get cheeky over here). But this was also a story where Julian was in his feels about Ivy, so Shane performed that very well too. Both he & Zara made these books come alive, like a movie in my head.

Awakening of IL review (4 stars): While the Priest series introduced me to Sierra, I decided to start at the beginning, with her historical series. *enter horny posh English folks from 1879 Yorkshire* Complete with aggressive yearning, insta-lust that turns into pining love, classic “we can’t be together” vibes, & a scene where he has the audacity to unbutton her sleeves to touch her bare wrist! *Gasp!* Alert the church elders! (Well maybe don’t because much more than a wrist is exposed as the story progresses.) Honestly, I was looking for a fun story that would be entertaining & this one totally delivered. Between the looks full of old-timey longing, Mr. Markham is a man of mystery. What the heck happened to his two previous wives who both suddenly died? Did he do it? Is Ivy next? But he’s so handsome & he touched her bare wrist... he can’t possibly be a danger... can he? Hmm. Dang, this book is so fun & I was thoroughly entertained!

Education of IL review (2.5 stars): This one was not my favorite & most of what I liked about it came from Zara’s stellar performance. There’s nothing wrong with this story. If this novella is 150 pages, they bang for probably 135 of those pages. Every room in the house (maybe even in a field). Time after time. Again & again. Honestly, their stamina should be studied (but maybe it’s just the work of fiction, haha). While there’s nothing wrong with a smutty read, it’s just not my genre. Plus, plot stuff was happening & we were left hanging off a cliff. Did Julian have something to do with either of his wives’ deaths? Was it the grumpy woman who runs the house? Does the town gossip know what happened? Who is Julian, really? None are addressed until the very end. This was like a very spicy intermission to the other aspects of the story. But Sierra’s incredibly poetic writing & Zara’s performance made this story come alive. I’m excited to see how this saga ends.

Punishment of IL review (4 stars): Dang, what an ending! I definitely didn’t see that one coming. There was a shocking amount of action for a spicy Victorian-era historical, especially in the final act of this story. Everything I was missing from the last novella was addressed in this one. It perfectly wrapped up all parts of the story & the small break the couple took provided ample opportunity for more brooding & pining, both things Sierra is brilliant at writing (in addition to spicy spice). Plus, in typical Sierra fashion, there was commentary about sexuality & its acceptance in society, which I love about her storytelling. There’s also an extended epilogue-style novelette included that’s called The Reclaiming of Ivy Leavold & I really liked it too. I loved seeing how Julian put effort into strengthening his relationship with Ivy. Not only reminding her that she’s more than her new roles of “wife” & “mother,” but also proving himself to still be her dominant partner. It felt like the perfect ending to their story & a true full circle conclusion.

Super sexy gothic romance

I have actually read these books before and have loved them. The writing is smart and sexy, the characters three-dimensional, and the stories compelling. Sierra Simone has never disappointed me.

The only shortcoming for me is that, much as I love Zara Hampton-Brown as a narrator, her voice for Julian Markham was like fingernails on a blackboard. He sounded like he had both throat cancer and a horrible sinus infection. If they could have done this in duet, with Shane East voicing all of Julian's dialogue, I would have given it six stars.

Deliciously Spicy Victorian Smut

Sierra Simone is a master, wonderful characters, fun storyline, heartbreak, and blushing my deliciously heat made this collection hard to put down.
