I expected more

struggled to finish . the performance was fine but the story lacked suspense . I didn't feel the connection between the main characters

Lincoln and Morgan

This was my first book by each author, so I was not sure what to expect. The story is about a coastal town that is having several unexplained deaths, and they are pointing to Lincoln as the suspect. Enter Detective Morgan Sloane, who is from the state, or government, and she turns out to be as interested in Lincoln as he is in her. He thinks she’s his childhood friend who had a mysterious disappearance and declared death. As she works the case with her partner Alex, with no help from the local PD, more bodies show up. The heat in this book, I’ll give it a 2.5. The story itself was good, honestly, it was hard to finish, but I did want to see what happened. I like the narrators, and I’m not sure if they have a choice in the matter, but I really don’t like when they have to voice the narration for the other people talking. Example - Lincoln is talking to his mother, so the male narrator speaks both parts.. not my favorite at all.

Plot

I mean you think you saw some things coming, but then when they do you get another surprise. I really enjoyed this book & Link ❤️❤️❤️

Great mystery

Love a good Emily Mcintire. Used to her other titles. Pleasantly surprised how much I loved this one. So twisty.

Worth the Read!

Emily McIntire is one of my favorite authors, so I was excited to start this one. Once I got into the storyline, I found myself thinking about it often and wanting to keep listening. I did piece things together before the ending, but it still played out really well! I’m definitely glad I gave it a chance and would recommend it to others. Also really enjoyed the narrators. I also appreciated the epilogue.

I really enjoyed this listen. I have loved everything from this author! She just has a way with spice and words!

Good spicy mystery

The narration is lacking.. a bit boring but the story has plenty of spice and good mystery. Would recommend reader to self read and not audio listen here.

Great Narrators but a Terrible Detective

The storyline is good, the romance is a bit repetitive but good, but Sloane is a terrible detective. I had the entire suspense plot figured out quickly. Still, I had fun.
