Tribe building done well, but to much lizard seggs

The story is more of a tribe builder with emphasis on the MC. The battles are thorough but not drawn out.

There is not much humor as the story takes a more serious tone, and this is personal bias, but I enjoy more levity in my monster evolution LitRPG.

Also, I'm not a scalie, so less(preferably zero) lizard seggs would be preferable. Just didn't start this book with these expectations based off the provided tags.

I Love this! Why?

This is actually realistic sounding for a story of a monster mc! First, the MC embraces the monster life, which is awesome! Second, there’s no extreme filter on gore, or the occasional intimate moments, explaining just enough to make the reader relate to the situation and feel interested. Third, the world descriptions, I actually feel interested in listening to them.

This just scratches a huge itch I’ve been having ever since I read “Every body loves large chests”. I just love a good unfiltered story of a monster MC that actually acts like a monster. It’s awesome!

PS: There’s barely any mention of Seggs. And there are Zero actual descriptions of the process if it occurs in this book. I just like the occasional lizard flirting that happens, it’s fun to listen to.

Immersive Non-Human MC

I love the first-person take on a non-human MC. The author did a great job giving you a TASTE of what its like to be a lizard (keelish). The sensory details are immersive and the world feels new and rewarding to discover.

Narrator sounds great, and does different voices well. I highly recommend checking it out.

mostly good.

The story starts off pretty fast, getting you directly into the plot and niche of the story. There is barely enough time to really get to know the betrayer, and thus feel little when the backstabbing commences.
after that, the flow is immediately established and it kicks into high-gear. The evolution and combat are really fun to read(listen to). providing a pretty easygoing pace and fast gratification. the problem is that there isn't any true variation or Twists to look out for. The story is what it is, and wears it proudly. after a while, the story really suffers from this lack of diversity. and the end just seems like the end of another chapter. I was actually surprised when it ended without a major plot point or anything.

other then that, I really did enjoy listening to it, and am going to continue with it. glad to see stories from Royal Road getting the love they deserve. there are some real gems on there.
