Resumen del Editor

Soon after WWII, U.S. statesman Dean Acheson warned that creating Israel on land already inhabited by Palestinians would "imperil" both American and all Western interests in the region. Despite warnings such as this one, President Truman supported establishing a Jewish state on land primarily inhabited by Muslims and Christians.

Few Americans today are aware that U.S. support enabled the creation of modern Israel. Even fewer know that U.S. politicians pushed this policy over the forceful objections of top diplomatic and military experts.

As this work demonstrates, these politicians were bombarded by a massive pro-Israel lobbying effort that ranged from well-funded and very public Zionist organizations to an "elitist secret society" whose members included Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis.

Against Our Better Judgment brings together meticulously sourced evidence to illuminate a reality that differs starkly from the prevailing narrative. It provides a clear view of the history that is key to understanding one of the most critically important political issues of our day.

The TRUTH

Wonderful writing of history. The same old thing. The powerful & rich are all members of secret societies... They're satanist. Millions of Christians & the poor have lost there lives because of there greedy agendas.

Shocking suppressed history. Audio is fine.

This is the back story of how a fanatical and highly organized minority came to dictate US foreign policy, including war, by the early 20th century. If you think that such a state of events is a recent phenomenon, you are in for a surprise.

Exceptionally imortant history

This is an exceptionally important book - well-researched & thoroughly documented. It brings to light critical information which has heretofore been covered up, and which levels the playing field, in that despite these coverups, we can now understand what many Palestinians have known for decades: the full history of the creation of Israel, and the injustice with which the U.S. and Britain colluded. And we can understand better the roots of the conflict - which is essential not only for justice, but also for the security of Jews both in Israel and throughout the world.

Excellent writing, with a major pitfall

Compelling writing that the world needs to hear, and that's where it falls short. Having been published in 2014, I expected a much higher quality narration. Mr McGowan very competently accomplishes the narration, however it has been distributed at such high audio compression that it sounds as if he is reading the book to me via a low bitrate early generation web chat.

I'm sure a higher quality version of this recording is out there, and they would do well to add it to this library.

needs to be known- audio not good

the story is well-told, and should be required knowledge in today's world. The narrator is good, but the audio sounds like the microphone was at the bottom of a bucket- if you can get through that annoyance, it's good history.

Important

How our "Greatest Ally" was created.
This book is a great intro to a topic that gets more horrifying the deeper you look.

Short, concise but still eye opening

I didn't check how long it was before buying and was initially disappointed by it's brevity, but the author states up front that the goal is to introduce people to the real history that always gets drowned out by cries of anti-semitism and conspiracy. Readers familiar with the topic will find this to be a good summary and all but true experts will learn many more head-scratching or head-shaking new stories.
