Resumen del Editor

A Harvard psychiatrist and Pulitzer Prize-winning author, John E. Mack, the author of A Prince of Our Disorder, presents accounts of alien abduction taken from the more than 60 cases he has investigated, and examines the implications for our identity as a species. These mesmerizing and thought-provoking stories of alien encounters from a Harvard professor take you through actual case studies of people from all walks of life and ages who have had challenging, sometimes disturbing, and in every case, life-changing experiences of alien abduction.

Mack's Abduction: Human Encounters with Aliens is a fascinating investigation of real-world "alien encounters," and explores how extraterrestrial encounters affected the way people regarded the world—including heightening their sense of spirituality and their environmental concern.

John E. Mack was a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, a professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, and focused his career on the connections between different cultures and individuals. His book is masterfully narrated by Audible listener favorite, Brian Arens.

Reseñas de la Crítica

"John Mack explores evidence of nonhuman intelligence like an attorney preparing for the ‘trial of the century’—interviewing witnesses, examining physical evidence, consulting with experts in related fields, constantly questioning his own assumptions.... As a story of one man’s determination to bear witness to cosmic mysteries with extraordinary implications for the human future, Abduction is bound to become a modern classic." (Keith Thompson, author of Angels and Aliens)

The encounters make you believe

I have this memory I can’t quite get all the information I need to remember certain aspects are more certain then others and listening to this book and certain things that were said from the many person encounters makes me believe that it could be possible something happened to me when I was a child that the vivid memories of specific details that I can’t quite comprehend and put into words just maybe real. It makes you want to dive deeper into those deep rooted memories from long ago just like these people did. They’re brave and their stories are so interesting and yet scary because it’s not familiar it’s unknown. This is a good read and truly made me more open then ever that were are NOT alone.

Best ufo book ever

This books covers the often missing link in ufo literature, the relationship between ufo and human race. Even if you don’t believe in ufo it’s a great and scary read

A challenging and fascinating read

Mack’s book is an exploration of the abduction phenomenon that will turn your world upside down, challenging the reality and consciousness we live in. Regardless of where you fall in accepting what’s presented, you will, in the least, be enthralled.

Gripping recounts of abduction experiences

Loved this book. The abduction experiences recounted are so interesting to listen to. I also appreciate the authors views and additional information of explanations of the events. Clearly something is happening that defies our usual explanations of reality

This was a good book

I enjoyed listening to it, other than the pace at which the narrator reads at had to keep it at 1.2x the entire time.

UFOLOGY 101 MUST READ!

This is the most well researched & scientific breakdown on the abduction phenomena. John Mack was a hero to humanity.

Odd

Author Mack's examination of the experiences of "abductees" starts off well, and does manage to hold the reader's waning interest through to the very end. Much of it was a slog, though.

I've tried to keep an open mind on the topic but find that about half the material presented here is just too absurd to swallow. If aliens are intent on saving the planet from humankind's destructive greed, they need to find a more productive way of reaching the people who control the levers of government and industry than in resorting to plucking people out of their beds in the middle of the night. On a more personal level, these concerned ETs must refine their methods of creating hybrids if they hope to populate the earth with responsible, thinking humanoids; listless hybrid children who have to be taught how to play are not likely to grow into the strong leaders who will lead us into responsible stewardship of our suffering planet.

Narration is fine.
