When he picks up a difficult case, he finds that he needs extra help. This leads him to Stonewall, where he meets Zane for the first time and instantly feels himself falling for the mysterious and stone-cut detective.

The two men have their own hangups to work through, but both men are having a hard time denying the connection between them, even though they're trying. When fate insists on pushing them together, Zane and Enzo give in and start exploring their feelings. They'll need to balance their budding relationship with the stress of Enzo's case, which takes them both on a twisting journey toward the truth, all while a bigger threat looms on the horizon.

This is a great first book to a series and the narration is perfect! I definitely recommend checking this series out.

Sweet romance and a murderer. very interesting and catchy story. Absolute best Narration by Greg Boudreaux. Love your writing style Max Walker. now, for the rest of the series. well worth the credit and your time to listen.

I am hooked. I love this series. I love hearing the two stories being told through the eyes of the two main characters. The narrator is perfect.

I enjoyed this book for most of the time. It wasn’t a GREAT book, but just ok. I didn’t really enjoy the sex scenes….just not my favorite.

I couldn’t get past the narrator’s oddly bad accent

One of the two main characters is Italian, but the narrator voices him with an Hispanic accent that I found so distracting that I stopped listening midway through.

Excellent listen. Loved the story. Will definitely be looking forward to listening to more from this author. The narration was awesome.

Be still my heart

Zane and Enzo are perfect! Zane a detective who has given en up hope on love after his husband was murdered..... and Enzo a defense attorney who has been scorned and isn't looking for love... find eachother. Their worlds collide is a heap of mystery, danger, spicy times and laughter. Great story, characters and narration!

Telenovela Wannabey

First, I’m going to listen to the second book to see if the writer can live up to the promise that I can see, like a tiny, precious jewel of my trust (this is a reference to a specific line).

Second, this isn’t a detective story. It’s a pornographic M/M romance, with a minor detective story, and with an even more minor serial killer subplot that is the basis for the lead character’s tragic backstory.

Third, the writing is overblown. Every verb and noun is modified, nothing is ever said simply. It’s never “fighting like a rat”, it’s “fighting like a vicious rat infected with rabies.” The stars don’t shine, they twinkle like something out of a fairytale.

Lastly, the narrator is supposed to been an Italian who immigrated in childhood. But to my ear, he sounds more Hispanic than Italian and often sounds like he’s performing for a telenovela, he needs to tone it down.

Like I said, the idea of an lgbtq+ detective agency is intriguing, but the author needs to decide whether he’s writing pornography or a detective novel.

Good listen

Great story and plot. The character development is good, but could have been a bit deeper. Zane could have better developed.
