Nothing about the Arab Israeli conflict

Previous books gave insights to the conflict in the mid-east. Nothing to be learned from this book, it is just another murder mystery.

Fast-moving story

I love this series! The characters are like old friends, and it’s interesting to read about their newest adventures. I also like the social commentary, which helps to make me more aware of trends and actions that affect our individual and collective lives.

Fast paced with good twist

As usual, wonderful narration of an exciting Gabriel Allon novel, looking forward to another one.

Home run

Daniel Silva is one of, if not my favorite, authors ever. His writing is superb, and he has learned that (IMHO), character development is the foundation of a great story. The interactions between Gabriel and Chiarra are fantastic. The supporting players are believable and well fleshed out.
I love the fact that, although he is not a large man, Gabriel is extremely tough and willing to put his life on the line for his people and beliefs.
Then there is Edoardo Ballerini, whose voice control is simply superb. He switches between characters with ease and is one of the very best narrators.
I rarely give 5 stars, especially across the board, but it is deserved in this case. I also rarely re-listen to a book, I could start the Gabriel Allon series all over again and love it.

Plot twists

I've read all of Daniel Silva's books and every year I anxiously await his July release. He never disappoints.

This book is more intellectual than action oriented but with great information about Freeports andin state of the world in and the laundromat in London, don’t miss his description at the end

Great read

I've read every Daniel Silva novel and this is probably my all-time favorite. Well-researched and well-written.

Daniel Silva never disappoints and the narrative is amazing . I hope there is never another narrator

Gabriel Allon is an iconic figure in the spy genre . What’s interesting is this is the first time he hadn’t called upon his “ team” seeing that he has left the agency . Nothing is lacking at all - amazing

A senior Gabriel Allon

Liked the less bloody story suitable to a more wise Gabriel Allon. Less twisted than other stories. However did not appriciate the increasing product placements. Also while Daniel Silva does elaborate about Cleptocracy in his afterword, Gabriel and Family become more brand and wealth driven. Shopping at Armani, Gucci & Co and replacing their humble lodgings with pricy appartments and estates. What does not fit to the obvious aim of the story.
