Acerca de esta escucha

#1 New York Times bestselling author Daniel Silva delivers another stunning thriller in his action-packed tale of high stakes international intrigue.

A brutal murder, a missing masterpiece, a mystery only Gabriel Allon can solve . . .

Art restorer and legendary spy Gabriel Allon has slipped quietly into London to attend a reception at the Courtauld Gallery celebrating the return of a stolen self-portrait by Vincent van Gogh. But when an old friend from the Devon and Cornwall Police seeks his help with a baffling murder investigation, he finds himself pursuing a powerful and dangerous new adversary.

The victim is Charlotte Blake, a celebrated professor of art history from Oxford who spends her weekends in the same seaside village where Gabriel once lived under an assumed identity. Her murder appears to be the work of a diabolical serial killer who has been terrorizing the Cornish countryside. But there are a number of telltale inconsistencies, including a missing mobile phone. And then there is the mysterious three-letter cypher she left behind on a notepad in her study.

Gabriel soon discovers that Professor Blake was searching for a looted Picasso worth more than a $100 million, and he takes up the chase for the painting as only he can—with six Impressionist canvases forged by his own hand and an unlikely team of operatives that includes a world-famous violinist, a beautiful master thief, and a lethal contract killer turned British spy. The result is a stylish and wildly entertaining mystery that moves at lightning speed from the cliffs of Cornwall to the enchanted island of Corsica and, finally, to a breathtaking climax on the very doorstep of 10 Downing Street.

Supremely elegant and suspenseful, A Death in Cornwall is Daniel Silva at his best—a dazzling tale of murder, power, and insatiable greed that will hold listeners spellbound until they finish listening.

Another entertaining story. Not a great book. Not nearly as good as some of the earlier books in this series. It also seems like the books have gotten shorter and more politically preachy. Would be nice if Silva would crusade elsewhere and get back to writing good books instead of mildly entertaining summer travel filler.

Entertaining, as usual. But….

A terrific story narrated by a master; what more could you want! I only hope the next is on its way!

Alon at his best!

I really enjoyed this one, Ballerini is a big part of why, but the story alone would read just as well.

Great story and narration.

The author’s note was a fantastic summary of the state of affairs not only in Britain but in many of the so-called first world countries! The poverty rates are hardly surprising but startling nonetheless.
I thought Eduardo was great but locals in Cornwall do not sound like they are from London!
Can’t wait for the next book!

I love the complex characters and the plot based on the current state of the world decline. Brilliantly conceived and written.

Too many crooked rich people who don’t have any scruples. The matter of those not caring who they hurt.

Dirty money

Gabriel Allon is a fascinating character and I love finding out how he is going to get out of the situations he faces. Silva points out issues facing society without being heavy handed. Edoardo Ballerini is the best narrator in the business.

Daniel Silva writes relevant story lines to today’s issues full of intrigue
