This audiobook is narrated in duet by Gregory Salinas and Geneva Mitchell.
Geneva gives Reggie the sharp wit and sass she deserves. It’s perfect.

I enjoyed every minute of this book. Give me a strong-willed, sassy, and smart FMC and a broody, emotionally closed-off bodyguard (who’s never even kissed a woman - love that micro-trope), and I’m all in.

Roan (the third Fox’s brother) and Reggie’s dynamic is electric, full of bickering, sexual tension, and moments of unexpected tenderness.

This story is a wild ride from start to finish, with a jaw-dropping (and pretty disturbing) climax and an ending that will leave you hanging in the best way. 😏
Bonus: Her pettiness when the enemies-to-lovers tension is at its peak (think Nair and hot pepper) 🤣

This book doesn’t just focus on romance, it has a dark and compelling mystery at its core, packed with cartel politics, gruesome murders, and a serial killer on the loose.

The slow burn is really slow, until it’s not 👌🏻

Highly recommended for fans of gritty, action-packed romance with heart.

This couple was steamy! Loved their banter and relationship. Such a strong, hard headed female lead.

This story had so much potential, and it may be one of the rare stories I prefer to eyeball read. I love the tropes (bodyguard, fiery heroine, enemies to loverish vibe, heroine in danger) - but the heroine, both on page and the narrator, didn't quite do it for me. She is supposed to be this incredibly smart and analytical and mature woman- yet she basically tantrum pranks the hero for much of the book for doing his job of protecting her. She comes off as a petulant teen. And on top of that, the female narrator for this wasn't my favorite. It felt almost over performed, very stoccato overall, and one note. It also didn't really seem to fit some of the key moments. So, all in all, not my favorite of this series, and I might recommend it via ebook. (even though the duet performance is always so nice)

So, the first 2 books were good, the MFC are starting to get very annoying. Reggie is too immature, with plating games and pranks on Roan. And the narrator for the female didn't seem to match to me.
