I love the author to start, but good three dimensional characters, good narrators, great spice and some surprising femdom (I’m not mad about it).

This is the second book in the series, and while I didn’t like it quite as much as the first, it was spectacular! My one and only critique is that it dragged a bit in the first half. The writing and the female narrater are highly nuanced, making for a better-than-face-value listen. So good. The male narrater, although more straightforward, was still perfection. I definitely have a new favorite author for the genre!

Great story line and the narrators are wonderful like the last book. There is a little less spice than the last one and I definitely didn’t see the bad guy coming which I usually do.

2025 Audiobook Review

I adore these narrators, they do a fantastic job with bringing these characters to life. I laughed, got teary-eyed, and needed to fan myself because of the heat throughout this book, they enhanced my emotions from when I read it because of how well they portrayed these characters and their story. I felt for Hannah with her inner turmoil, her hating her wolf/self and being scared. You could feel her strength come back with her actions and words, and Rafe helped her be comfortable in her won skin again. The tension between the two was palpable. I loved how Rafe being allowed to come, when it takes longer for gargoyles, and the awe he would exude and the focus Hannah had on it. How feisty she got with her shift was awesome too. Great job with the audio, I cannot wait for Elias' story and for his audio. He was done so well in book 2 with his multiple cameos/appearances. He is going to be so much fun to listen to hopefully later this year!

I love these interconnected standalones! This author is already an automatic one-click author for me, but I didn't think I would love Rafe and Hannah more than I loved Sunny and Khell but I did!! Hannah’s background, the emotional turmoil she is in because of her attack and her not accepting what happened to her and embracing this new woman hit me right in the chest. I wanted to hug her through the kindle haha. I loved the set-up of this book and then when we got to see Hannah come out of her shell, feel more confident in herself and in Rafe, and how Rafe could truly get what he wanted and not be injured, how goofy he was and adorable...SO GOOD!

I loved the cameos of some of our favorites from book 1 and we get to meet new ones in book 2. I really loved Nat and Theo’s relationship (I loved them in book 1 too but see this side was great!). I enjoyed Elias and cannot wait for his book next year. At the end I Awwww’d at his request/wish and I am gonna devour his book. where he is probably super awkward and analytical and his mate is going to be someone very spontaneous and effervescent and brings him out of his shell. I appreciated his friendship with Rafe and Khell and Theo (and the text chat at the end made me smile so hard haha). I smiled a lot in this book and just had a fun time getting lost in this amazing world. Loved Hannah’s band, I am hoping their new bassist finds love, she was awesome and the others who stayed were fab.

I thought the steam from this one was even better than book 1 and that was saying something. We got primal play in a different way and I enjoyed everything about it. The twist in the middle was 🥵🥵🥵 and I am so glad this author let the characters learn about themselves and explore their desires. Thaaaaank you for the good boy moments 🔥😍. The chemistry between Rafe and Hannah was off the charts. It made the story go by so quickly because I couldn’t stop reading. I enjoyed even more the cute moments. How Rafe would try out recipes to get them right, how he was goofy and joked around, how he made Hannah feel more like herself and feel confident about her situation. The radio scene and him realizing she is a rockstar haha. I could go on and on. OH and the intricacies and details this author added with Rafe and his gargoyle attributes and how that would add to the steamy moments (and for the plot!). Hoe gargoyles handle their bodies, the shifting, etc. And Rafe’s vulnerability with Hannah and realizing he doesnt want to be a punching bag anymore and he finally got to have pleasure and not just his clients. The one rule was so sexy but also so sweet.

The storyline here was more drastic than book 1, we get a baddie who I hope got what he deserves and overall I loved this book and didnt want it to end. I am going through a really tough time right now and this helped me feel better. Took a day to just lounge and read and escape the stress and scariness of the real world. It was exactly what I needed. I am so grateful this author does what she does, her work brings these characters to life, helps readers enjoy these amazing worlds, and get lost in a love story with some BA and swoonworthy characters, like Hannah and Rafe ❤️ Highly recommend!!

I loved everything about this book…except the few audio blips towards the end. Editing should’ve caught that. Otherwise, the narrators were amazing and the world building is great.

This is strange because it's such a different vibe from book 1. The first book was like 80% sex and then 20% sex and cute and fun. This has less sex which is nice for the story and the pacing, but every second spent with the fmc seems sooo over dramatic. Like the description states, she's been turned into a werewolf and is trying to deal with that. Of course that would be a very trying time, lol, I'm sure any of us would be horrified and unhappy about it if it wasn't by choice, and it would be so hard to reconcile all the physical changes. But, the fmc is melodramatic about every single thing that happens and it's exhausting. It also seems like she isn't really doing anything to learn about her new self and how to handle it. I don't want to victim blame her but she has new realities she has to get a handle on and she's just...not. Anyway, it's a lot, and there's some suspense and I wish it was more easy going like the latter part of the first book. It would be great if I could take the things I liked most about both books and put them together to form one nicely paced, fun book. If there's a book 3 then maybe that's how it will shake out. I'm really not sure about this one, though. It's too bad because I love the mmc. Narration is good, very competent, but I think the female narrator's dramatization is part of what I don't like about the character.
