James Joseph is quickly hiking to the top of my favorite narrators, he was outstanding in this!

While this is part of a mafia series, the mafia aspect didn't really play a huge part in this one so it was a nice mix up after the first two books.

Katie's rockstar boyfriend Tommy went from being the perfect boyfriend to someone scary who hurts her. We quickly find out he's never given her any pleasure - Mac has had his eyes on Katie since their families unites and sees all this happening from afar. And he's determined to do something about it - the way he decides to do it? OBSESSED

Mac quickly became my favorite MMC so far in this series - he's filthy, unhinged, OTT possessive, and he first comes to Katie as her masked stalker - what is better than that?! SO many good quotes from him throughout this book and so many of them had me giggling and kicking my feet like YESSS! We all need a Mac! The way he came to Katie wanting to make her see her worth had me rooting for him from page one.

Tommy was a downright shit stain - every time he showed up I got nauseous - James did a great job differentiating him from the other characters so it was immediately known when it was him talking.

And the way Katie gets her revenge on Tommy? Genius. I need at least two more scenes just like it please and thank you!

Off to start Logan and Valentina's story!

This series just continues to get better! Each book has been so different but keeps you seated in a mafia world that is easy to follow. While you can enjoy this one as a stand-alone, I would highly recommend starting with book one.

Katie thought she had her life together, but it keeps getting worse, with only her stalker keeping her grounded (and satisfied). Mac wants her and just feels rejected.

I consumed this one via audio, and it is hot as hell! Mac's deep tone just sinks in and takes you with it as only James Joseph can do. Melissa Maybeck as Katie is a perfect pairing. Their performances created quite a few bookmarks.

even if 𝗺𝗮𝗰 is mafia, 1 of esther & maeve's bros, this is more about his & 𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲's story. from 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬 2, katie's escape was being with her rockstar bf. here, we get to know what a pos said bf is while mac watched from a distance. his attraction turned into obsession. it was only a matter of time til he broke & showed katie she deserved better. & when he did... 𝙤𝙤𝙤𝙛🔥

🎧 the narrators performed their characters exquisitely in this duet narration. the way 𝘮𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘬 voiced katie in chap 33 was something powerful♥️ & 𝘫𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘫𝘰𝘴𝘦𝘱𝘩 as mac... 𝙎𝙄𝙍𝙍𝙍🧎🏽‍♀️ the walking red flag id gladly let lure me in!!

This book was everything I wanted and more! I have loved every book in this series, but Dark Obsessions might just be my favorite yet. The tension? Off the charts. The chemistry? Scorching. Spicy, suspenseful, with masked stalker. Need I say more? MFC is in a terrible abusive relationship. Her stalker wants to show her that she deserves better, even if he has to get close to her and prove it himself. The smut with this one is on point, totally depraved, and contains equal praise and degradation play. Great listen and lots of spice! 🔥🔥
Both narrators were excellent. I love James Joseph’s accent
