I was so excited for Katie and Mac after listening to Dark Enemies and they did not disappoint. They were teased very well by Effie leading up to their book.

Melissa Maybeck and James Joseph bring life to the story in duet style. Much like the other female narrators in this series, Melissa was new to me and I love how she portrays Katie. James Joseph has very quickly became a favorite for me. I cannot get enough of his voice. I do not know what it is about his style but I am addicted and him as Mac....I could listen forever!

Katie deserves so much more from a significant other than what she gets from Tommy. I really, really do not like that guy. I lost count of how many times I wanted to be able to throat punch that guy. He has all but extinguished Katie's light. Thankfully she finally gets some clarity and dumps him like the trash he is.

Mac, oh my goodness how much I love Mac. He has taken the top spot as my favorite. Are his ways of pursuing Katie traditional, not in the slightest....lol! He truly does love her though and is so fiercely protective. He is the man made for her, who will worship her and make her shine brighter than ever before.

I love how Effie builds their story. The chemistry is so good from the beginning. She gives readers plenty of teasing before Mac's truth is revealed. There are plenty of edge of your seat moments and lots of the siblings popping up throughout.

I love Mac and Katie together!

🎧 the narrators performed their characters exquisitely in this duet narration. the way 𝘮𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘬 voiced katie in chap 33 was something powerful♥️ & 𝘫𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘫𝘰𝘴𝘦𝘱𝘩 as mac... juz fab!! mac u dirty 𝘿𝙄𝙍𝙏𝙔 sir!! the walking red flag id gladly let lure me in!! 𝙮𝙚𝙯𝙯𝙞𝙧𝙧𝙧🙌🏽

and I loved every second of it. when I tell you I absolutely loved this so much! I finished it in two days! LOVED IT!

Narrators were incredible! It was a first for the female narrator but she was fantastic! I have listened to 3 or 4 with James and he is as wonderful as ever! They both worked so well together and I really really enjoyed listening to them!

This was quite the emotional rollercoaster ride that kept my attention with the twists. I went back and forth between anger at Tommy and swooning over Mac. The chemistry and heat between Katie and Mac was great, It was a good quick listen and I enjoyed it,

The narration performed in duet by James Joseph and Melisa Maybeck was great. Their voices worked well for the characters and they did a great job bringing the story and characters to life.

4.5 rounded up! I previously read Dark Enemies and loved it so I knew I’d love this too. This one was extra spicy with some st@lking, and CNC. Mac was 🥵🥵🥵 and I lived for how obsessed he was with Katie. I always like getting to see interconnected characters in standalones!
I love how connected the families have become after previously being enemies. Katie has no idea the brother from previous rival family is who is st@lking her and helping her dive in to her deepest fantasies and they are perfection together. Did I mention Mac was st@lker daddy? 🥵
Definitely check TW due to some abus3 and other things in the book ❤️
Both narrators were fantastic but I was especially in love with Mac's narrator because he captured both the tender and spicy sides of him so well.

Enjoyable Mafia. Although it’s book 3 and I had not listened or read the others in the series. I didn’t feel like I needed to. There is more than plenty happening. You wont be missing on anything

Katie, has an abusive boyfriend and a Stalker who wants to save her.

Melissa Maybeck & James Joseph did a fantastic job. Melissa is a new narrator and I have listened to a few of James’s work. I would love to hear more of these two.

Mac is definitely a book boyfriend to want! He gives you everything you didn’t know you needed! From the mask, to the stalking, to the pleasure. He makes sure you are happy with the outcome. He made sure to give her the self confidence that she needs and the smiles she used to give.

It took her a lot to realize that she wasn’t getting what she deserved. That she deserved so much more and better. That just bc you’re with someone famous doesn’t mean you have to stay with him.


The way Mac loves Katie is end game and I’m here for it! Loved everything about him and her together.

This is an interconnected standalone in the McGowan mafia series and I have been loving the audios for this series! This audio is performed in duet by Melissa Maybeck & James Joseph and they did a great job at bringing the story to life! I couldn’t stop listening!

I love a good masked stalker in my books and low key Mac instantly stole my heart the second he was so focused on worshipping Katie! The spice is delicious between Katie & Mac and I was here for every scene between them!

Effie Campbell brought the heat with this one! Mac was obsessed with Katie the moment he saw her but didn’t want to show it. Then when he started to notice her boyfriend Tommy isn’t treating her right he decided it was time to show her how she should be treated!!

Mac is the St@lker that you want in your wildest dreams! So hot! Love Katie’s spitfire as well. Another case of rival mafia family working out! Check the triggers with this one it is definitely darker than the other ones!

James Joseph did such a great job with this book voice multiple different Scottish accents! The growl and the good girls and the deg was fire!
