Lynne Hartnett is an Associate Professor of History at Villanova University. Her research focuses on Russia, its Revolutions and its Revolutionaries. Growing up in the late stages of the Cold War, she developed a fascination with the Soviet Union. The collapse of its empire in 1991 allowed her to explore its archives and embrace its history. In the process she fell in love with the country, its culture and its people. She is an award winning teacher and the author and narrator of two video courses for the Teaching Company's Great Courses: Understanding Russia: A Cultural History and the forthcoming Great Revolutions in Modern History
