John Bunting is a principal senior lecturer in the Intensive English Program at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. John's areas of specialization include the use of technology in language teaching and learning, lexicography, grammar, second language writing and vocabulary, and teacher training. He received his doctoral degree in Applied Linguistics at Georgia State University. His first book (College Vocabulary 4, Cengage), an ESL vocabulary textbook based on the Academic Word List (Coxhead, 2000), was published in 2006. He also worked on a revision of Vocabulary in Use High Intermediate (McCarthy, O'Dell, and Bunting) for Cambridge University Press. He co-authored Grammar and Beyond 4 (Cambridge University Press, 2013), a grammar/writing book for advanced ESL learners and Grammar and Beyond Essentials 4 (Cambridge University Press, 2020). While always happy to be working, his most cherished moments are spent living and laughing with his wonderful family.
