Luck was rarely on Ciera's side. She had the good fortune of being robbed in the parking lot of a bar and was only one bad hangover away from losing her job. Life was all about fun and taking risks though, and nothing that could potentially lead to a good time was out of the question.

There’s sort of a long to unpack here, considering it was just a 20-minute listen (or 45 minutes if you can stand the 1.0 speed setting). Just when the world is almost-established, I decide I like this FMC, her world, etc, there’s action, (tr!gger warning: SA) and then a steamy scene and well, that’s pretty much it.
The cheesy writing killed it for me, taking me right out of what little plot there (almost) was. And the title is misleading as only about 1 minute of this is actually set at work.

Pretty bad.
1 star.

I don’t think I’d read any more by this author.


🎧 Audio:
Overall sound quality was good and the narrator was okay. She did perform rather than dictate so that’s excellent. The voice was a bit hard to take but obviously that part is subjective.

I would say at least 80%+ of this takes place NOT at work, but that doesn't hurt the story any.. Ciera's 'bad luck' has a lot to do with her bad habits in my opinion. Hopefully Jonathan will straighten her out. No epilogue, but she has a vision of her future life, so that will have to be close enough. More than just 2 characters this time, but Audrey still pulls it off. Listened through the romance package.
