A Gender Swap Romance

Russ can’t keep a girlfriend around to save his life, thanks to his way-overactive libido. But it turns out there’s an easy solution for that problem - girls never have an issue finding a hot date, right?

When Russ loses his third girlfriend in a row to his overly voracious need for getting down and dirty, he complains to his friends that a girl wouldn’t ever have this problem. Case in point: His friend Krystal, a lesbian who sleeps with dozens and dozens of hot dates. But since he’s not a girl, Krystal proposes an alternate solution: Why not go see a fortune teller and see if a little hypnosis can cure him of his appetites?

At first, Russ is skeptical, and he’s right to be - the moment he shows up in Madame Orlando’s magic shop, she tells him that he doesn’t need hypnosis. He just needs a partner who’s right for him. But Russ insists, and after a long look into his soul, she sends him home with a magic bath bomb that he absolutely does not believe is going to do anything. His doubt lasts right up until the magic bath bomb does its thing and turns him into a beautiful woman!

Now, as the gorgeous brunette Riley, he discovers that he loves being a girl more than he ever could have imagined, and he has no problem finding lovers of either gender. But when his string of endless one-night stands begins to leave him feeling a little empty inside, he begins to wonder...will he ever find the person he’s truly meant to be with? Or will he end up stuck forever as the bright, bubbly girl everyone likes to have a good time with, but no one wants to keep?

Entertaining but not my favorite plot

This story had a great premise in terms of the transformation aspect, with the main character getting unwillingly transformed in a bathtub and having to figure out life thereafter. The story was really well-written, which I’ve come to expect of Alyson Belle, and Juliana Solo gave another outstanding performance as narrator.

That being said, I wasn’t very captivated by the plot like I have been with her other stories. It was harder for me to consider the main character a “protagonist” that I could root for, and I didn’t feel like I was able to invest as much in any of the characters.

In summary, the story is definitely worth a listen and is entertaining, but it’s certainly not my favorite from Alyson Belle by any stretch.

Sweet Steamy Romance

Bright and Bubbly is written by Alyson Belle. The narration is provided by Juliana Solo. This is a shorter standalone swap/romance from Ms. Belle. The runtime is only 2 hours and 27 minutes. In that time another excellent story is created. The main character Russ is a somewhat unlikeable guy who can get women but never keep them due to a high sex drive. His best is friend Krystal a woman with a sex drive similar to his own, except she is a lesbian. Krystal suggests he needs hypnosis and sends him to see Madam Orlando. While at there he is told he only needs to find the right partner, not hypnosis. He is told to go home relax and use the bath bomb given to him by Madame Orlando. And there the transformation story begins.

This story was impressive for the fact that there was plenty of erotic scenes and the actual problem of dealing with the gender swap. The paperwork involved the new support system, and just establishing and identity. The practically for Riley of now dealing with things like being smaller and now dealing with personal safety and men, pregnancy, and all that entails being a woman in 2018. This was a really enjoyable attention holding audiobook.

The narration was really enjoyable from Ms. Solo. Each character was given a unique voice. I really enjoyed her performance. The production quality of this audiobook is also topnotch. I heard no problems during the entire performance. There were not any detectable flaws that I was able to hear during the entire performance. I did not hear any loops, breaks, or buzzing. The production was crisp and clear. Alyson Belle Productions delivered an excellent audiobook production. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Rub a dub dub, there's a girl in the tub

I had read this previously, and wanted to hear it to compare. Juliana Solo has am excellent voice, giving great slow detail to the erotic scenes as well as emotion to the more romantic ones. This being, as it says, a gender swap romance, there is greater weight given to character's emotions and thoughts than most swap erotica. I might have liked more sex scenes, but that probably would have pulled away from the author's love story. Given that the main character is a high libido man who becomes female, and has a lesbian friend with similar drives, I thought there might be more between them to relieve sexual frustration, with another or longer sex scene. Perhaps between chapters. I know Belle's stories are standalones, but it would be interesting if these modern swaps linked somehow, even peripherally. A luncheon of swapped ladies could yield lively conversation, or a Facebook group. None of the characters are really interested in how any of this is possible, just the results, but I'd,like to see Madame Orlando again. I suspect there is a story there, it seems hinted at, that could be developed in its own right. Also notable is that potential downsides of a swap are brought up, like pregnancy and unwanted male attention, usually ignored in the genre. It's a nice sweet, not particularly surprising swap tale, but one that raises possibilities for further exploration. I received a free audible copy of this book.
