Amelia Cynster is stunned to hear these words from Lucien Ashford—the enigmatic sixth Viscount Calverton and the man she has always loved—just before the handsome rogue passes out at her feet. Dawn is breaking and she's already risked scandal by lying in wait for him just outside his London home. And though torn between indignant affront and astonished relief, she's nevertheless thrilled that Luc has agreed to her outrageous marriage proposal.

However, rather than submitting to a hasty wedding as Amelia had planned, the exasperating lord insists on wooing her properly … in public and in private. She longs for their time alone, when she can learn all about seduction from a master, yet frustratingly, they all too often find themselves beneath the stifling gaze of the ton.

But there is method behind the viscount's madness—he has a secret reason for wooing Amelia. And like all desirable things, his passion has a price.

As the story goes, I don't think this novel is as good as the rest. The premise is just weak and the sex overwhelms it. That said, as a Cynster fan, I liked the book because there was an opportunity to get to know some of the older members of the family - Arthur, Louise, and especially Helena. For me that rescued the book from a lower score.
Narration as usual was wonderful.

I really enjoy Lauren's book and I especially like the narrator. It drives me crazy when they change narrators with their novels. He is definitely someone you should listen to....but the book is great. I love it when the hero is being setup and tortured by the heroine. She knew before he does that they were meant to be....great continuation of the Cynster novels. The love scenes were great...smile.

It was wicked!!

Simon Prebble does his usual excellent rendition of the characters, and but for that, I wouldn't have finished it. The interminable sex scenes that are usual in Laurens' books are even more frequent in this one. The plot looked promising when she finally got round to it midway through, but stalled and fizzled before it had a chance to develop.

One of the weakest stories in the series

I like this author but this book was not as good as some of her others. I like more plot and less sex

A decent romance

Ad nauseum sex scenes! Last quarter of the book was full of intrigue and the Cynster family strong character action.

Sex scene central!
