Publisher's summary

Ben is now Draco Rex the dragon king, and his dynasty is steadily growing.

His women give him a new dragon-kin child every few weeks, he has fortified and improved his village and palace, and the water dragons are coming back from the brink of extinction.

Life is good for him, but the gods have further plans, so it is time for the new ruler to build a raft and expand his domain.

book 2

Absolutely enjoying this series so far. After the first book I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. Now that they are setting sail for other islands I'm excited to continue the series and see what other species are in store.

It only gets better.

I wrote a review for the first book as well and will leave one for each of the series as I go. I'm really enjoying the story and my reviews may be best read in order.

As I said in my review of book one, there are a lot of predictable moments in the story, but I personally don't mind that because the way the story gets told is very well done.

This book picks up a lot faster than Book 1 since it's a direct sequel to the last, with a minimal time gap of only about 2 weeks or so from the end of the first book. It begins much more intense and ends up answering a lot of questions the reader might have about the setting.

The fight scenes are much more intense as well, showing how much stronger and used to the new world Ben is becoming. Along with the fight scenes, the adult scenes are also still very well detailed and don't feel stale or out of place.

Uh... okay I guess.

The story, was better, but still hard to get behind. I love the VA for the story. But I will do more research... there is a third and fourth book that need reading.

Very Good

Interesting characters and an interesting plot I find the study of the different societies interesting. I’m very interested to see the progression through the islands and the cultural differences that are manifested. It will be interesting to see how the narrators interpret the various cultures vocally.

Prolific Hero

The story is great and has been developing nicely. But damn, everytime this guy has sex he gets another woman pregnant except for Mira. lol. Seriously, keep up the good work.

Not recommended unless you're eager to continue

The first book was.....passable, but this one and the next one are just in the cringe category. For one thing, I can't stand the whole accelerated pregnancy and growth gimmick, where the child goes from conception to full grown adult within a year or sometimes even less. You also never really get the feeling that the main character is ever in any kind of real danger. The author puts him into dire situations , but there's always the feeling like "it's no big deal, he'll just Mary-Sue it." When he does have to deal with a death among his friends, it's just someone that was introduced shortly before they're killed off and it's obvious that was the only reason they were introduced, to try to create some kind of feeling of loss, but it just doesn't work.

My recommendation is to move on to another series, but if you're really eager to continue the story then have at it; I realize that what one person finds difficult to get through, another person may be completely engaged. This series just isn't for me, unfortunately I bought the second and third book together and already listened to them both.......the third one doesn't really get much better..... although the new race of girls hasn't had to deal with any pregnancies yet, so no telling how rapidly their children grow yet.
