The portals have opened, and the Demon King is coming to Earth. In... twenty years.

Josh Becker was once pretty average. That was until he won the Gigaball Lottery and got hundreds of millions of dollars (after tax). No, wait. He was still pretty average at heart even after that. It was when the portals started arriving in his backyard and he had to kill monsters every night when he started to become more of a special guy.

Now armed with some kind of video-gamey "System", Josh is minding his own business, making sure to deal with the portals and the threats they send each and every night. But one night, a new bonus portal arrives, and an elven warrior princess in dubious-looking armor strolls out. And that's when things get weird.

Princess Elysia has come to Earth from Antheria, bearing the grim news that she and Josh will have to fight alongside her comrades, the Hero's Party, to defeat the Demon King known as Black Lazarus... but when she checks her Chronos Crystal, she realizes that battle isn't scheduled for another twenty years.

So that's awkward.

These Heroines Are So High Maintenance is a spicy, slice of life, plot-averse story about a man and the demanding reverse-isekaied fantasy women who make his life more interesting. Listening to it will definitely not make you a better person, but it will make you cooler. So what are you waiting for?

One of his best

Let’s see… Easy thing to say is if you like other similar books like Solar Dragons or Coven King you’ll probably love this. At first I was skeptical about the choice for a solo female narration but I gotta say, Rebecca’s performance is every bit as good as Alyssa Poon’s solo stuff and maybe better than Jessica Threet (who is also a goddess narrator). Lots of fun. I’m particularly interested in seeing how the final chapter’s new character affects things in book 2.

wacky, fun and addictive

Virgil simply out did himself with this book, it's a fun, laughable story of a lottery winner who found out he's also the future hero. And his party is compromised of 3 extremely needy high maintenance gorgeous women, 3 women who cannot physically or socially blend into normal society, which is an issue because they arrived 20 years early!! overall a truly fun and interesting story. the voice acting is great and the characters are wonderful, with Porsche being my favorite. Truly a job well done by all excitedly awaiting the next in this series.

I got it on the spur of the moment and was pleasantly surprised. Rebecca Woods did great and is a new favorite of mine. It's worth the time.

They are adorable

This is the start of a great new series. The girls are cute and bratty but also plenty of sex appeal. This is still based in the greater Virgil Verse with Annya being mentioned. Hero has a bunch of s3xy party members traveling to help defeat "Black Lazarus" hilarious jokes with that name. I usually don't like dog girls but this one is a cut above the rest. Highly enjoyable with the Narrator doing an amazing job. Also i though massages weren't sexual.

Pretty good with some big flaws

The need to hide the girls makes no dam sense. There’s vampires, magic and imperial forces across the world but somehow pointy ears is where the “oh no!” line is drawn? Then there’s the monsters the MC is fighting….vampires and magic but suuuure the MC is trying to keep some monsters invading a secret…Also, the stupidity of the girls goes past funny and quirky to a point where it’s mind-numbing and cringy. The MC acts a teenage boy with the girls. They are practically throwing themselves at him and most of the time he’s adverse and runs away. As for “high maintenance” they are wants that are stupid easy to fulfill and only get out of hand because the MC is an absolute pansy about them. Also stupid that the MC admits to things to the law which complicates his job despite no evidence. Real smart one.

It was very fun and funny

The last chapter was very funny. The girls are very annoying sometimes but still lovable.

Fun. Love the characters and presentation.. Looking forward to the next. Fun performance. Just so much fun.

Needy Heroine Overload

Another Virgil banger!. The title is very much literal as we have a group of heroines showing up that require the constant care and attention of the Mc. While this book does have some action id say majority of the story is slice of life. The slice of life however is perfectly executed and keeps the story engaging and enjoyable. I am very much looking forward to book 2 5 stars!

the narrators and the author both did amazing job with the book it is interesting hilarious the world is different than our own but uniquely the same my only question is worst book 2
