Lunatic is part of the Wellard Asylum shared series and I devoured this book! But make sure to check your triggers, as this is dark! Bianca finds herself being sent to Wellard, and Raven is immediately captured by her presence. He is the definition of a man obsessed and does not plan to let her go. He might be a psychopath, but I think he’s a lovable psychopath. These two have experienced so much trauma, which has definitely helped shaped who they are now. But they are perfect together!

Audiobook:
Performed in duet by Maxine Mitchell & Troy Duran and I binged this without even meaning to! Their performance was absolutely amazing and I’m so glad I got to listen to this one!

The audio was NEXT LEVEL. Troy Duran & Maxine Mitchell didn’t just narrate—they became these characters. I’m still recovering.

Did I laugh at this? More than I should admit considering everything else that happened. This was a book where the trigger warnings weren't for show. Not for the faint of heart

The narrators did a great job bringing the characters to life--awesome duet narration.

Spoiler free things that made me laugh (had many more but can't post due to the language)

First goes her shirt, and then her pants. She’s running through the trees naked, and that is exactly why she’s going to be locked up again soon. ---Idiot

This may be the darkest story I’ve ever read. Please take the trigger warnings seriously! This book has some twisted, messed up stuff in it, but I loved every minute! The audio was so good! Troy was unhinged as Raven & Maxine shined as Bianca! This was just all around a good time! Must listen for fans of the Bonetti Brothers & pitch black romance!

Lunatic by Chelle Rose is a twisted erotic horror that I listened to on audio narrated by Maxine Mitchell and Troy Duran. This book is part of The Wellard Asylum Series.

I enjoyed the relationship that bloomed between Raven and Bianca especially with the bonus chapters. I liked getting both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

Troy and Maxine did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you're looking for a twisted romance, erotic romance, horror romance, or asylum romance.

Lunatic by Chelle Rose is a dark and intense story set in the world of Wellard Asylum. It’s a twisted mix of horror, psychological suspense, and dark romance that dives deep into the human mind and the lengths people go to survive. The atmosphere is unsettling and immersive, pulling you into a place where sanity blurs and danger is constant.

This book comes with major trigger warnings for violence, abuse, and non-consensual acts. It’s not an easy listen, but it’s written with purpose and doesn’t shy away from the uglier sides of human nature. Even though it’s part of the Wellard Asylum series, it can easily be enjoyed as a standalone. The author includes just enough context for new listeners to understand everything without confusion.

The duet narration by Maxine Mitchell and Troy Duran makes the experience even more powerful. Maxine delivers her usual incredible performance, and Troy is a standout, this was my first time hearing him, and he’s definitely on my favorites list now.

Yup, I’m crazy and I’m ok with it. THIS BOOK! First off definitely listen to the triggers bc yowza there were things that had me shook. Why do the crazy ones always make you want to hug them and their brokenness? Raven is intense and so very broken. I have never listened to the Benetti series but I am definitely going to go back and do that. I wasn’t lost in this story though however there is a spoiler but I was ok with it bc it’s one of those things you knew would happen anyway. It’s hard to comprehend that a book that is this dark and twisted was amazing and made me go on an emotional rollercoaster but it did and I loved the bits of humor mixed in. Maxine and Troy were absolutely perfect for Bianca and Raven. They both always bring out the depth of the characters and in turn the story. Bravo for making it through that narration and dark space.

I loved this audio! I listened to this audio in one day. I rarely have time to do that now, but this story is fast-paced, incredibly interesting and just so freaking good. Sometimes I wonder about myself, as I found it to be quite comical at times. Several times I caught myself giggling, when in reality, the situation might not have been funny. I guess being in Wellard Asylum can do that to you 😉

Told in duet by Maxine Mitchell and Troy Duran, they were completely in their element and perfected these characters. It’s easy to get swept up in the fear, insanity, darkness, and even revenge while listening to these two give Bianca and Raven a voice.

Unhinged and Twisted! 🐦‍⬛

If you like dark and deprived this is for you. The narration was beautifully done (biased since it’s one of my favorite male narrators). It has its moments where you question your sanity and if you should truly be laughing to yourself.

It’s brutal
It’s traumatic
It’s loving
It’s liberating

10/10 recommend for my dark readers.

Make sure to check THE list(s). Your mental health matters! This book will keep you in your toes. Its dark and makes you question your sanity. You never see the twisty turns this book takes. Maxine Mitchell and Troy Duran bring Bianca and Raven to life and do a wonderful job. They truly pull you into the story.
