Publisher's summary

My 60 days begin here.

The beautiful monster holds my body and soul in his brutal fingers. I’m his to use. His to dominate. His to command like a puppet on a stage for dirty eyes across the dark web. I shouldn’t want this. Shouldn’t want him. Shouldn’t want to take every dark instruction from his lips and give him my everything. But I do.

It should be about the money. About saving my sister from certain doom and bailing us both out of financial misery. It should be about forging a new life, a new world for the pair of us once my 60 days are served. But it’s not. Not anymore. It’s about him.

3 short books should have been 2!

This is a great and gritty story full of trigger warnings. (BDSM, degradation, really hardcore) not a romance story exactly.

However, the books are short with repeated inner dialog which is the same all the time!
This series should have been a duet!

Jade West is a goddess and my absolute favorite!

I am a simple woman; I see a Jade West book or series and I immediately buy. Let me tell you, if you didn't realize it already with he first book, these books are not 50 Shades daek. They carry true, deep darkness of epic proportions. They carry the kind of darkness that wraps itself around you and won't let you go once it's found a crack in your armor and snuck into your heart. The kind that ruins you to all of the soft and sweet romances offered by authors that see the soft side of love and seek to exploit it to the masses that just want to feel adored. The characters in these books do not seem adoration or sweet lovemaking; they don't whisper sweet nothings and they don't tie each other up in silk with soft, delicate knots and provide safewords that the woman must repeat since the man is just so worried about her pain or discomfort. Her books offer a rare and unfiltered look at the darkness on another level, a peer into the taboo relationship between pain, pleasure, and intimacy that are so far from being for the faint of heart that any question of your fortitude might as well be an admittance that this isn't for you. I mean no offense by this, but some think they want dark but they covet the kind of darkness of a tortured vampire variety or the kind of darkness that reveals itself in bed and then hides itself inside once the deed is complete. Jade's books are anything but; the darkness in these books is complete, consuming, and unapologetically brutal. You've been warned!
Anyway, my review goes as this: this is the true beginning and the first novel was more of a prequel of sorts as these two come to know one another and Paige's 60 days begin in this book. I pitied Brandon in the beginning of this portion of the story. I certainly liked him right away in the first one but his absolute fear (fear by another name of course) of love made me pity him. He didn't understand Paige's strength in her belief of love surviving through the worst of circumstances and I feel a connection with these characters due to my own life circumstances, namely relating to Paige's sister but with no big sis to bail me out when I made all the wrong choices. But I had another family member, a few really, that never gave up on me and always recognized that I was still me inside, with a drug possessing me and stealing all the good pieces of me. I feel it offered me a unique perspective on this series so far and I believe with the opiate epidemic in the US that there are probably many others out there that likely feel the same if they're willing to listen about the unseemly side of human nature in these novels. That guilt never leaves and Paige's absolute dedication to her blood is both admirable and frustrating due to the crap situation she placed herself in on that sister's behalf, although it becomes painfully clear that it's an excuse in a way since she was immediately attracted to Brandon's ferocity. I knew the second that Brandon put her in his bed but then put her in front of the cameras that this was a mistake he would end up regretting. I knew he'd end up wishing he had never shown her to anyone and hid her away only for himself. That's what made it all the more thrilling as all of his preconceived notions of what life is and how this situation should go starts to fall to apart as Paige gains a kind of power over him that only a sub can have over a Dom. Jade understands this beautifully fragile power exchange better than so many other writers by explicitly describing intense scenes between these two for the readers since it only makes sense that this kind of intensity would result in an equally intense level of intimacy. She is a master of her craft and the experienced reader/listener of dark romances will hear just how this dynamic shifts further and further as Brandon lusts for her more by the day. I would gladly pay 2 credits per book for her novels. I do hope she keeps writing more and more since I've now read all of her books (less the last novel of the series which is next on my list) and I can never seem to get enough of her raw writing style and her well developed, complex characters. If you liked this book and presumably the first book of the series, I recommend Bait when you finish this series. It's a freaking masterpiece and my favorite book of hers to date. I read/listen to a TON of dark romances yet that one never left me. Jade illustrates the irony of pain healing the pieces of these people that they never knew needed healing so eloquently and I cannot wait to finish the series! I'm on to the last book now and I'll likely listen the same way I always have with her novels: with bated breath and unable to stop from start to finish! Thank you Jade for creating books that never hold back and never shy away from the taboo and the ugly side of darkness. In the beginning of these books she notes that she has had a horrible year and I sincerely hope life takes a kinder turn for her and things get better. She deserves it for creating books that cut to the quick with their brutal honesty, that chip away the ice at my cold, bitter heart and remind me that ugliness and beauty, pain and pleasure, hatred and love are both a part of life and that they need one another to make life worth living. I hope others find solace in her books as I have and that she sees maybe not this review in particular but that she has had an effect on others in a positive way.
TL;DR: West is the Mozart of writing, an artist and a conneisur of dark, gritty, compelling, and unyielding romance. Read this book if you're ready to reconsider your views on pain and intimacy, and only then. Her books will stick with you and hold a part of your soul captive to her unique brand of darkness.

Brandon and Paige

***SPOILER ALERT***

Audiobook review. Audible Premium Plus borrow. Sixty Days trilogy, book 2. This is NOT a standalone. Dual POV. Dual narration. Both narrators read well. Heartbreaking story of a woman who agrees to be a s€x sl@ve/s€x trafficked for sixty days in exchange for $250,000. This is listed in the romance genre under the erot¡ca subgenre. In this portion, a love story is starting to form. I do agree with other reviewers who said this trilogy should've been either a boxed set or simply one book/audiobook. Major CLIFFHANGER, have book three ready. Content warnings: live pay-per-view request based webcam business featuring sad¡st¡c degr@dat¡on, def¡lement, and BDSM without a safeword; breath control; the H sp¡ts in the h mouth and face; @n@l fingering; @n@l s€x; p¡nching, flogg¡ng, sp@nk¡ng with hand and wooden p@ddle, and wh¡pp¡ng all while h wrists are bound and suspensed above her head; subsp@ce; b¡t¡ng; hair pulling; d¡ck from @ss to mouth; minimal after care; b¡t¡ng; and h is abducted.

Paige Emerson's love for her sister, Phoebe May Emerson, is tested when Paige agrees to be Brandon's willing s€x sl@ve for 60 days in return for $250,000. Brandon Grant (aka Bran/Master) is clearly enthralled with Paige. He has one of his men find and bring Phoebe to him, further explains what Paige is doing to save her, and offers to send her to rehab. Phoebe accepts Brandon's offer of help. Once Brandon has Paige and begins to train her for the men who are bidding for her, he quickly realizes he can't turn her over to the wealthy depraved men participating in his auction, but before he could tell Paige how he feels Drake abducted her. “no safe words” had me like- um, add to cart

I expected it to be a lot more! I expected a lot more darkness and grit and much more spice.
While I did enjoy it and finished the series I was shocked at how tame it actually was considering the summary and reviews I read. That said I do like them dark and dirty so to some people this may actually be super spicy.
I also felt this was drawn out and by the middle of the 3rd book I was ready to be done. And I wanted the 2 MCs to have a break from the constant turmoil. I wasn't however expecting the conclusion or resolution to come in the way that it did. I felt there was a setup throughout the series that would somehow tie into the problem solving but I was mistaken. While there were some unnecessary charters that left you asking why, I did overall enjoy this series and would recommend it. The narration was not bad.
