I love the story but I am most happy that the narrator changed. I have the old version and when I saw that they had changed the narrator to the person who did Sugar Daddy, I went ahead and bought this one. Used a credit and it was worth it. Great story.

Nobody writes as well as Lisa kleypas. She really knows how to tell a story and make you feel like you’re there. This is one of my favorites books ever! Harsh at times but therapeutic for abuse survivors.

This is the second book in her contemporary romance series on the Travis family. I was pretty sure I was going to hate this hero, but of course in true Kleypas fashion she managed to make Hardy Cates into a sweet, caring, protective, and oh so yummy character. Haven Travis went through a lot, and I mean a LOT of heartache with her loser ex husband. The domestic abuse is described in gruesome detail and I really felt how bad it was. Because of the way it is written, I was able empathize with Haven and I understood why she put up with it for some time. Just be aware if physical and sexual abuse is a trigger for you, you will certainly be triggered. After all the crap she got from loser ex and crazy boss lady, she took charge of her own life and claimed her roughneck beau. It did get a little crae crae and dramatic towards the end, but that’s Kleypas for you! It is a beautiful love story and we get to see a bit of Liberty and Gage so it was great.

It’s Lisa Kleypas..you have to read it
