Publisher's summary

Alessandra Kennedy wakes up to a veritable hell, locked in a cage and held captive by aliens. But her greatest fear is of what lies beyond those cell doors. What horrors will the new life beyond her prison have to offer?

She imagined every worst-case scenario and all the horrible things that might await her, but never once did she imagine she would become an alien's bride. The strange new culture that takes her in certainly does things differently than humans. Will she be able to get through the time she shares with her alien husband (without arguing) for long enough to make it home? Or will she lose her heart somewhere along the way?

Kye Amara, the rich and cocky diplomat, has always had everything at his disposal: money, women, success. But when a neighboring government tries to impress him with a gift of five beautiful slaves, he finds himself drawn to one of them. Quickly, this human tears down everything Kye thought he knew about himself, challenging him in a way he has never experienced before.

Has Kye Amara finally met his match? And will he be able to prove he is man enough for his alien bride?

Contains mature themes.

I don't think I can finish this.

This woman is having such a pity party for herself that she can't see ALL the good things the "Hero" is trying to do for her. Every time I think it's going to get better and they will settle into some kind of romantic routine, BAM she is right there shooting him down. I'm sorry but with a romance novel, if I am 20 somethings chapters in and there isn't really any action between the two main characters or whatever, I can't. I haven't ever not finished a book before but this one may be my first. The female character is too infuriating.

trigger warning. over the top pity party.

i love this series but the chick is so far up her own behind and self absorbed that you want do give her a slap and yell knock it off. if it wasn't for the guy stepping in she would have probably ended up somewhere bad. of course a human woman would be throwing temper tantrums. i want to go home bla bla bla. girl you have alien technology in your head one accident on earth and she would be whisked off to a lab. for someone who was a professor she is as dumb as a drunk driving q car. 🤣

It’s a story with sex instead of sex with a story

Really liked the characters, very fleshed out. Like the first book, I was engaged in the plot and didn’t want to stop reading/listening.

I see some reviews are critical about the female protagonist’s attitude and behaviors but IMO that’s mostly a personality issue not a writing one. Yes, she’s frustrating and illogical but aren’t people? We change our minds, react emotionally instead of sensibly, and make the same mistakes over and over. I do agree that those passages could have been trimmed but I don’t think her character is unbelievable.

Going to listen to the third one now!!

Hard to believe, so much attitude

This young lady was captured, held prisoner in a glass cage nude and then rescue. And the whole time she was friends with everyone but the one who saved her. It was that way through the whole book. I found myself skipping her dialogue ( that always rambled ) just to get past her unrealistic way she looked at only her husband. It was an exhausting read. But the narrators were great. This book get better one hour before it ended. So if you buy, try to wait until the end.

Love the readers!

Okay. Alessandra is a whiny, pathetic and mostly annoying! I haven’t finished the book. I know eventually she will change so I will have to fast forward.

Kye Amara + Alessandra

📚- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🥵- 🌶️🌶️
🗣️- 🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧

Book 2 in the series is a different species of alien and different group of women from book 1. However they do interconnect within the story. I had some trouble connecting with Alessandra and her character growth. I don’t feel like there was much of or any growth. Kye on the other hand had wonderful character development. I enjoyed this narration as well. Noelle and Mason are some of my top favorite narrator.

Pulling my hair....

This lead female is starting to get on my last nerve. I'm on chapter 19 and all she's done is complain or be rude. Also she demands her normal on the lead male but she's the Alien on this ship....I mean I understand her but at the same time I understand the lead male too but she doesn't even try to really understand him or understand their culture.... It's annoying.

Unlike the first book which was amazing! I hope the next one is better... 🙏

Takes quite a while to like the characters

The narration was incredible the book was just okay.
The main characters, in my opinion, are both unlikable for at least the first half of the book. Alexandria is annoying and misunderstands almost everything. I should have felt sorry for her predicament and I did, but she seemed to disagree with Kye just to have something to complain about. I am not really sure if she changed much until the very end.
Kye on the other hand was egotistical at the beginning so that he had some way to show growth. Which happened about the Midway point.
So if you are willing to stick with the book until the end then you will likely enjoy it. I was disappointed at first that we had a new couple rather than following a couple from book one but they eventually ended up on the new planet with the previous characters which helped tie it together.

Great story

I was impressed by the storyline. Although sometimes I end up starting with the wrong book and I started with book 3 so I’m going back and listening to the other books in the series. The storyline was talking about things I wasn’t sure about but it still made for an interesting story. The story is well written and extremely well narrated.
The narrator’s do a fantastic job with the characters and the voices of each character making it easy to distinguish between the characters. Being able to distinguish between the characters is one of my biggest pet peeves. These narrator’s do a great job with the emotions of the characters. and I can’t wait to listen to more of what they narrate. I definitely recommend this audiobook.
