Publisher's summary

The Instant National Best Seller

From the Bachelorette breakout heartthrob, You Deserve Better combines Tyler Cameron's life story with a guide for both men and women to building healthy relationships in the tricky world of modern dating, proving why he's the male feminist we never knew we needed.

Tyler Cameron impressed fans on The Bachelorette with his ability to discuss difficult topics with a level of emotional intelligence perhaps never seen on reality television. Things like consent and boundaries, respect for women and their decisions, the roots of toxic masculinity in insecurity, and more, he espoused with confidence and genuineness.

Tyler seems like a unicorn. He got the world's attention simply by demonstrating a full grasp of respect and no fear of vulnerability and honesty. But shouldn't this be the norm? In this book, he shows that every person deserves a partner who understands and values them, with advice on how to seek out someone like this and how to behave like this for your own someone

Part memoir, part how-to guide for anyone lost in the world of modern dating, and interspersed with practical tips on how to find and foster a meaningful relationship, You Deserve Better shows readers how Tyler C. became Tyler C., the story his fans are dying to know.

Needed to hear this

As someone going through a lot right now dealing with an estranged husband in addiction while I've carried my family for 8 years financially and emotionally, this was really hard to read.

Tyler is around my age and the parallels to my life and belief system were a little scary, even down to our dogs both named Harley. I believe in God shots and reading this book was one of them. It was almost like listening to his belief system, grit, and perspective regrounded me back to who I am at my core, what I deserve, and what actions I need to take in my life.

The world needs more men like Tyler.

I loved it!!

On the outside looking in, Tyler seems like that pretty boy jock stereotype and this book shows that he really isn’t. It shows that he loves hard and is always there for people. This book is a must if you’re a bachelor fan!

Good feeling

Makes u think about your and other peoples how they fit to your life. Great dating tips. Love the parts when he talk about sports, college, going to the pros, and every thing in his life. I would like to meet him on of these days. Just to ask him some questions. Why he made decision this way vs. that way.

Love Tyler Cameron but….

Tyler Cameron is the best but I found some chapters repetitive and felt like when his friends told stories they all said along the same things. We all know he’s a good guy!
I didn’t have much expectations for the book and glad Tyler read it himself. Overall it’s a quick read as there are some point in there that are really great with deserving better for yourself

It was alright.

First few chapters were pretty good and somewhat interesting.

The last 5 or so chapters were a lot of self promotion. Basically every chapter where his friends or family were talking about him said a lot of the same stuff, “he’s a good guy, treats women well, etc” seemed a bit unnecessary unless he’s just trying to squelch haters who think he’s too much of a party boy.

Overall a good listen but the chapters where he’s giving dating advice seem odd since he was explaining half the book why he messed things up with Mariah. Idk. Just seemed like maybe sharing experiences makes more sense than offering much dating advice.

Still love Tyler C

Tyler is one of my absolute favorite contestants ever on the Bachelorette and so of course I had to commit to the memoir. I really enjoyed this because Tyler is from my hometown and I can definitely picture and relate to a lot of the things he describes in the book about growing up in south Florida. The chapter where he shares his proposal speech to Hannah was definitely heartbreaking, and I liked the balance of how his friends and family had their own little chapters talking about him. It was nice that he narrated the audiobook, and though this was by no means written by a professional author, it was nice to just hear the perspective and story of a nice mature guy. A solid 3.5/5.

Good messages but pretty bland

It was obviously written by someone who is not a writer. It often sounded like a high schoolers journal. I appreciate the advice for young men and women out there but it was often boastful ‘look at me’ while trying to counteract with, ‘I’m down to earth guys, I promise’.

Inspiring and Honest

What I like about Tyler is how genuine and brave he is. He leads, takes on challenges and risks head on, while maintaining his sense of self and his common sense. Hard work really will pay off and standing up for what you believe in is such a rare trait to find in today’s busy and comparison driven world. His strengths lie in his ability to remain authentic, humble, insightful and a good friend. Some of the most successful individuals on the planet make it because they are capable of empathy. Tyler is relatable and anyone who has faced adversity in their lives can relate wholeheartedly to his story. The message is a good one. Best of luck to him in every aspect of life, HE deserves it!
