Publisher's summary

It should have been a routine investigation. Instead, DEA K-9 agent Adam "Deck" Decker watches in horror as one Denver hospital seems to be ground zero for overdoses of a new drug. Now Deck can only hope a certain icy, green-eyed ER doctor will help him and his canine partner track down the deadly source.

Dr. Tori Sampson has her reasons for not trusting federal agents, especially ones working for the DEA. But the rash of overdoses—including a heartbreaking case involving a teen—is alarmingly high. And the new opioid is not only extremely dangerous, it defies all the usual medical treatments. So Tori has a choice: work with the big, brawny, and annoyingly hot DEA agent . . . or watch more innocent people die.

Tori's the only person who can help Deck break the case, and they'll need to trust each other, no matter how high the tension and attraction sizzling between them run. But with every question answered, they realize there's something more behind these typical teen overdoses. There's a pattern here, and a pattern can only suggest one thing. There's a killer on the loose.

Good story, but maybe better read

I have several Tee O’Fallon audibles, several with Vanessa Daniels. I can get through the book ok, but her obvious lack of acting skills makes for awkward and disjointed speech patterns. Still, the voice is at least pleasant enough, and I’m a sucker for the various K-9 series.

Prefer dual narration

Great story Action filled with a nice amount of suspense. Dual narration would be very helpful.

Excellent

A great romantic suspense. Well written and nicely narrated. This is the first book I’ve read by Tee O’Fallon but won’t be my last. Highly recommend.

Fantastic Book

This book was written with great passion. Yes there’s some bad language, but it’s fine. Every time it was corrected. I totally loved the story. The characters showed compassion, and love, and totally didn’t cross the line between right, and wrong. I totally love books that have service dogs in them. These wonderful creatures save many lives in their pursuit of justice.

Language

Lost a credit to the f word. Insulting! Why? The story was probably good but I refuse to listen to trash talk.

Fun but kind of silly

The big reveal of the bad guy seemed a lot like a page out of a Scooby Doo episode.
Hunky guy/ girl romance with a mystery built in. This was book three for me so….
