Publisher's summary

The epic finale of When Rivals Play. A coming-of-age tale of loss, love, and redemption from bestselling author B.B. Reid.

They were wrong for each other from the start.

The jock and the nerd, what a cliché they made.

He was the town prince, and she was a nobody.

Tyra Bradley was invisible.

That is until she told him he needed some manners, and so began their game of cat and mouse.

She ran, he chased.

It was perfect.

Except Vaughn Rees has a deep, dark secret. Promised to the NFL, but fated for something sinister, Vaughn knows she's forbidden fruit. To want more is to tempt death. He's already in too deep.

When a betrayal unravels their fragile ties, the good girl runs as fast as she can. What Tyra doesn't know? They're a siren's song. She can run, but they'll always be bound.

They're two souls torn apart and mended by fate. And now...Vaughn isn't the only one with a secret.

The Prince and the Pawn is an interconnected standalone and book four of a complete series. For the best listening experience it's recommended that you start with The Peer and the Puppet. Content suitable for 18+.

The Prince and the Pawn

The Price and the Pawn is the last book in the When Rivals Play series. This book is Vaughn and Tyra's story. This book is told from dual points of view. They both have strong feelings for each other. When Tyra's sister shows up out of the blue she's not sure what to think.

Vaughn's father does not want him with Tyra so he makes it seem that he is sleeping with Tyra's sister and she walks in on them. So Tyra ends up leaving. Now she is back and has a secret. She doesn't know that Vaughn was trying to protect her from his father.

When Vaughn finds out her secret he is upset and takes it out on her. Can their relationship survive the past? Can Vaughn stop his father from coming after Tyra? What happens to Tyra's sister?

One thing I like is at the end each couple gets a little part so we can see what the future holds for all of them. I really enjoyed this series and would recommend it!

Sooo Good!

I loved listening to this story. I enjoyed reading the book, and hearing the audiobook was a big plus. The narrators made the story come alive, and enhanced the imagination and details. I will definitely be downloading the rest of the series because I am officially hooked.

Phenomenal!!

B.B. Reid is a master! I am so blown away by the amazing way each story in this series folds I to the other perfectly. This book was my all time favorite as I have been dying to read Tyra and Vaughn's story. It was more than I expected. The narrator's did an outstanding job and I'm most definitely going to listen to these books again.

CANNOT GET ENOUGH

This is the most epic ending to the whole series! My world is wrecked now that the series is completed but holy cow what an ending.

I loved Tyra and Vaughn from the beginning and I couldn’t wait for this one. This one was by far my favorite of the whole series.

Them scenes were hotter than sin! Loved!!

My Least Favorite

There are two things I really liked about this book:
1. The narration; and
2. The extended epilogue.
It was my least favorite book in the series. The lack of communication, common-sense and maturity throughout the story drove me crazy. They were either fighting or f@%#ing or making bad decisions. Tyra got on my nerves even though I had liked her character in previous books...Spoiler...
Her start at motherhood was shaky at best...I know she was only 18, but who takes their child home after months in the hospital and doesn’t even have the bare minimum necessities in order? Or gets drunk the first night the baby is home from the hospital? Just ridiculous. In hindsight, I would not have purchased the audiobook...I probably would have just skimmed through on kindle and read the ending for closure. 3 star story, being generous.
