Publisher's summary

This blurb contains spoilers for book one, so proceed with caution!

What do you do the day after the world doesn’t end?

If you’re River Keyes (yeah, me), you try to figure out how you’re going to live without the internet. Because we might have kept two worlds from being destroyed, but now I’m trapped in a place with no electricity, no takeout, and no phoning home.

Worse, it’s a world where my absent father is not just present, but in power, and even more of a jerk than I remember.

At least if I’ve got to be trapped away from home, there’s Lasya Zarani, hot elven general and best eye-candy ever. Once he decides whether he wants to cut me to ribbons or take me to bed, things might get interesting.

But that’s only if my father doesn’t kill one or both of us first.

The Elemental Ruins is the second of two books featuring travel between two very different worlds, a snarky criminal trapped far from home, the angry elven general he’s lusting after, his terrible father, and a few surprises along the way. It concludes the story begun in The Elemental Keyes with happily ever afters all around.

Great story continued

Book one was great and book two picks up right where it left off. Sam Burns wrote a very entertaining story with a lot of detail and depth. the plot is so good. Greg Boudreaux is the only narrator that could do justice to this story. he definitely gave personality and life to each of the characters. Book two does not standalone, you must read/listen to book one first. I definitely 100% recommend these two books. very entertaining.

Meh...narration saves the book

story was ...meh. I really liked the overall plot and palace intrigue, but the relationship between the main characters got annoying for me. Greg Boudreaux's performance saves the story. I really preferred the Fluke series, though the narrator was terrible. Now if Greg had narrated Fluke....that would have been great. This pair of stories are for when there is nothing else to listen to.

A Fun Listen

Greg Boudreaux does a fantastic performance of the book. The stories of mages, elves and humans is presented in a unique way as their worlds intersect accidentally when a portal is created.

Story Line

The story line of this series is just peachy! It seems as though this was a closing to the series, but I feel like there is more to be said of what all happened after. Obviously with some good details in there and what not. Soooo if it’s not too much to ask, then having a 3rd book to follow up the series would just be peachy!! Over all though, you did such a wonderful job! Many kudos to you!!!

Great story, great narrator

I really loved this duet when I read them, but snapped up the audio when I saw Greg Boudreaux’s name!! The words are Sam’s, but Greg really brings out the intension, the humor, and nuances.
