"Addictive." (Candid Book Reviews)

Fear. That's what comes to mind when Sophie thinks of her childhood. Fear. And pain.

She ran away from home to protect her unborn child. Now, 20 years later, she's a woman who learned to put the past and its dark secrets behind her. To stand on her own and to build a good life for herself and her son.

But the past is not yet done with her and those dark secrets rise from the grave. Her courage, and the strength of her love will be put to the test. What's on the line is everyone she loves.

It's flight or fight and this time she won't run.

Predictable

I couldn't get through the beginning quick enough. It was a rough read chevron the circumstances. The love story was good but predictable. It kind of left you wondering about a few characters. I gave it 3 stars because the story was left unfinished, to me.

all over the place

The story is good, BUT all over the place. I found myself very confused at times and having to rewind and re-listen.
This is definitely a book that I would have preferred a physical copy to read rather than listen.

Words alone cannot describe how satisfying it was listening to this awesome story. The author and narrator are both extremely talented.

Twisted but yet Interesting

The twisted plot has you wanting to read/ listen to more. True love is never ending but it can also save us in the end.

A boy in the barn is a must read

First let me say that if you are triggered by descriptions of physical or sexual abuse this might not be the book for you as it does take you to some very dark places however it is an amazing story. I laughed, I cried, I was frozen in fear at times. I was so spellbound by this book I could not stop listening. There were times that I wanted to jump into the book and defend the characters. The narrorator is one of my faves so no suprise the narration was amazing.

Fantastic Story but not for the Squeamish

I really loved this book. The story continued to evolve and wind together the different parts at a very satisfying speed. The narrator was great. There are some parts that depict extreme violence but it's pertinent to the story to betray the evil that lives in one of the characters. It is only a minor part of the overall story but it does start off this way so don't be turned off. Keep going and what develops is a very heartwarming story of good over evil.
