The doorbell rings, just days after my beloved husband’s sudden death. I don’t recognise the woman on our doorstep, with her blonde highlights, a diamond bracelet identical to my own and a bouncing baby boy in her arms. This is by far one of the best books I’ve listened to. I did not expect all of the twist. Very much enjoyed this book.

ok, I guess
Ill just say I didnt know who did it. But the end still lacked luster and your were feed the whole scenario that just came out of no where.

Great narration with unexpected twists
I enjoy Slater’s books and the narrator Lucy Price-Lewis is always engaging. This one was a bit slow yet still engaging enough to listen on and find out answers that were lurching on each next page (so to speak.) Not as much intrigue and suspense as her other novels but it kept me interested from beginning to end.

Awesome listen
New author for me and honestly had it not been free, I would never have chosen, simply because it was unknown! Some audio books, not with an “American accent” are hard to understand, not this one. It was fascinating and I look forward to more from the author. Twists and turns kept me enthralled! Thank you!

This was a nice surprise
I really loved this book. The narrator's voice acting was great. the story was well written and kept me listening. I didn't expect the twist at the end. I didn't think this book was at all predictable.

Had to finish!
I Did did struggle a bit to finish but I had to see what the finale would be. it was daunting early on to continually have two principal characters, the young women, so totally obstinate and unmoving in such a horrific situation! that was quite unbelievable! You finally discovered how that came about at the ending, thankfully. The narrator was quite good, no problems there for me, but I did pause a few times for a day or so just because I was so frustrated with the forward progress.
