Publisher's summary

When we use chemical fertilizers, we injure the microbial life that sustains plants and then become increasingly dependent on an arsenal of toxic substances. Teaming with Microbes offers an alternative to this vicious circle and details how to garden in a way that strengthens, rather than destroys, the soil food web. You’ll discover that healthy soil is teeming with life - not just earthworms and insects, but a staggering multitude of bacteria, fungi, and other microorganisms.

This must-have guide is for everyone, from those devoted to organic gardening techniques to weekend gardeners who simply want to grow healthy plants without resorting to chemicals.

Great read, even better listen.

I really happy this book made it to audible. I don’t have the time to read as much as I would like so this helps a lot ! Now hurry up and add your other books to Audible so I can absorb all the informational nutrition. Thank you Mr. Lowenfels and everyone involved in creating this audio book. 🙏💚

Must read for aspiring organic gardeners

Jeff Lowenfels books are an absolute must read for anybody who is interested in organic gardening and growing your own food. i cant recommend it enough. Jeff did a great job of presenting the information in an easily understandable manner, yet its very in depth and you'll learn not just about organic gardening techniques but the intricacies of the soil food web. It must be noted that this book is the first in a series. He wrote Teaming with Microbes, then Teaming with Nutrients, and then Teaming with Fungii(which I'm not sure if its available on here yet but Teaming with Nutrients is), and these books should be read or listened to in that order as he goes progressively more in depth about the soil food web with each book.

Wonderful, the beginning of all

I believe this book helps me to better understand the importance of my personal garden within, the gut. Feed your garden within with microbes and fiber and and they will take care of you. Eat your greens and a large variety of fruits and vegetables. Your compost tea is kind of like eating fermented vegetables that you've made yourself. This book was great. I've recommended it to many of my friends. Thank you much.

top notch

excellent presentation of essential information. it's easy to digest the information given in this book. it's all well and good to have the secret of of life, but if you can't communicate it, it's still only potential, and yet to be revealed, ie. worthless to do anyone any good. if you want to do well by the earth in any way, this book is a good starting place.

Practical Microbiology

I regret not staying in microbiology vs art school after 'reading' this book. The book giving us the science first sets us up for a treasure trove of practical knowledge that will change trillions and zillions of lives.

cadence

I did enjoy the subject matter, however the readers cadence was mechanical at times.

Love the book

Love the written book, I was very excited to see it released here. But, who checked this before the audible release? Great voice but mispronunciations a plenty.
