New York Times and Wall Street Journal best-selling author Larry Correia sets this gritty urban fantasy, a sequel to Hard Magic and Spellbound, in an alternate noir 1930s. A tough P.I. battles an interdimensional monster that wants to suck magic power out of the world.

Only a handful of people in the world know that mankind's magic comes from a living creature, and it is a refugee from another universe. The Power showed up here in the 1850s because it was running from something. Now it is 1933, and the Power's hiding place has been discovered by a killer. It is a predator that eats magic and leaves destroyed worlds in its wake. Earth is next.

Former private eye Jake Sullivan knows the score. The problem is, hardly anyone believes him. The world's most capable Active, Faye Vierra, could back him up, but she is hiding from forces that think she is too dangerous to live. So Jake has put together a ragtag crew of airship pirates and Grimnoir knights - and set out on a suicide mission to stop the predator before it is too late.

Excellent! Perfect conclusion to the trilogy.

I've greatly enjoyed listening to The Grimnoir trilogy. This 3rd book in the series was very well done. The story was gripping and very exciting nearly all the way through. Bronson Pinchot is a wizard. His narration adds quality to the story. He does a great job voicing characters. I could tell who was talking in the book just by the voice he used. I've listened to some audio books where the narrator didn't quite fit the story. Not so here! Superb job!!!

Better than it sounds

The first book of this series caught my eye because of the title; "Hard Magic." It's gripping, right? Well, the description almost discouraged me, but the name was so great, I just had to give it a run...SO glad I did !!
The stories center around the evolution of magic into mainstream society. It takes place in the early 20th century, and Larry Correia does a terrific job of tying in history with his story. Incredible talents, Good vs. Evil, action, excitement, complex characters...just a terrific job.
This is installment three of the series. My son and I debate whether it is the final book or not. He did wrap things up well, but I think there's lenity of more adventures for these terrific characters. Give it a shot...it's worth it, and it's better after the first two in the series.

Dang it. Another fantastic novel.

I am really liking all of Correia's work. From MHI now this series.
The concepts are build off of other writers and theories but I like Correia's take on the sciences involved.

I really like the very simple straightforward approach that Fay? Faye? Fey? :-) takes towards 'killing'. Just awesome writing. I definitely recommend to others.

Satisfied but sad it's over

This was a great thrilling conclusion to the trilogy. By this point the characters are well formed and a real connection has been formed to them. While it may seem like the story is going to have a predictable ending there are still some really good twists and turns to keep it interesting.

If you have already read the first 2 you are already going to listen to this as well so you don't need me to recommend it.
