Amazing, again!

I've been binge reading this series all week. Lorelei King captured the essence of the story line so well. Definitely my favorite duo.

Dont DO that

I like these books they're full of mystery and sass and steam. I like charley and her a.d.d. I almost gave up on the serious in the last couple chapters until the end. at which point the story redeemed itself and now I can go on listening.

The Narrator is awesome!! The book is fun to listen too! I have terrible ADD, like Charlie, and I can stay focused on this book because it's so entertaining!

Great book!

I really enjoy these books. I recommend trying at least one. I honestly understand why some people might not like Charlie, but the thing is that I find her kinda charming in her mannerisms and overall attitude. The plot twists are fun and keep me engaged throughout the story.

What does Lorelei King bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

So much! Lorelei King is one of my top two favorite narrators. She does an excellent job!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes, it definitely had me laughing! I don't know that I've ever laughed harder while reading (listening to) a book.

Any additional comments?

I've said it before, but I'll say it again: I LOVE this series!! I just can't get enough of Charley & company. In the beginning of this book, Charley is almost delirious from not sleeping for almost two weeks straight, and I have to say that it was maybe my favorite piece of fiction ever. It was brilliant!! I laughed and laughed. I just love Darynda Jones' style of writing. I love the way Charley thinks. I'm a huge fan of the Stephanie Plum series, but I have to say that I love this one even more.

The cast of characters is just amazing! I love every one of them. I can't wait to see where this series goes from here. I'm so sad for Garrett. I feel so bad for Charley, and I'm frustrated with Reyes. (he better step it up) I definitely hope things start looking up for Charley and I can't wait to learn more about "what she's capable of."

Oh, and the mystery was slightly predictable, but that's never the main draw for me when it comes to these types of books.

I would love to have coffee with Charlie

Charlie Davidson is back for another installment of in-your-face sass, sarcasm, and sexiness. Of all the characters I've read, I think Charlie is the one I'd most like to sit down with and share a cup of coffee (well, an IV drop of coffee for her and a nice warm tea for me).

This delightful audiobook kept me sitting in the car long after I reached my destination just so I could squeeze a bit more mileage out of the story. We have more humor than a car brimming with clowns and some extra steamy Reyes scenes. Plus there's the delightful banter with Swopes and regular "Gilmore Girls-esque" banter with the ever-popular Cookie. Throw in some extra special twists and you'll enjoy love, laughter, outrage, sadness, and hope all in one book.

PS Don't forget "desperation" for book four to be released! (Edit: Oh snap! It is already released. Score! I'm downloading for Audible.com right now. Squeeee!)

all the excitement

wow this series is really getting good.. I like the characters they all different personalities about them that make them an asset to the series. I am soo curious about Charlie and her ability, each book she learns more information about herself and Reyes and each piece of new information draws you in ..
all the different dead people that she meets is very entertaining and exciting, just to think about the fact that there are many different types of people like that in the real world. who knows if there is a Grimm Reaper. you can loose urself in this book and in this world.
I am not sure I understand where Charlie's father is coming from on asking her to quit, but I guess it also stems from him not knowing the whole truth with her like her sister and Cookie do. she has different taste in men but it's funny.. on to the next book.

Absolutely. As all of the books from this series it is funny, entertaining, has a little suspense and sprinkle with sexy. I just can't stop listening. I really enjoyed the narrator's rendition of each of the characters, specially Charlie, the main character.

I really enjoy Darynda Jones writing style, the way she blends humor and sarcasm in her writing is skillful. The storyline is a unique blend and the characters engaging. I'm hooked.
