INSTANT #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

Janet Evanovich, the “most popular mystery writer alive” (The New York Times), is in top form as she sends Stephanie Plum on the trail of a stolen stash of dirty diamonds.

Stephanie Plum, Trenton’s hardest working, most underappreciated bounty hunter, is offered a freelance assignment that seems simple enough. Local jeweler Martin Rabner wants her to locate his former security guard, Andy Manley (a.k.a. Nutsy), who he is convinced stole a fortune in diamonds out of his safe. Stephanie is also looking for another troubled man, Duncan Dugan, a fugitive from justice arrested for robbing the same jewelry store on the same day.

With her boyfriend Morelli away in Miami on police business, Stephanie is taking care of Bob, Morelli’s giant orange dog who will devour anything, from Stephanie’s stray donuts to the upholstery in her car. Morelli’s absence also means the inscrutable, irresistible security expert Ranger is front and center in Stephanie’s life when things inevitably go sideways. And he seems determined to stay there.

To complicate matters, her best friend Lula is convinced she is being stalked by a mythological demon hell-bent on relieving her of her wardrobe. An overnight stakeout with Stephanie’s mother and Grandma Mazur reveals three generations of women with nerves of steel and driving skills worthy of NASCAR champions.

As the body count rises and witnesses start to disappear, it won’t be easy for Stephanie to keep herself clean when everyone else is playing dirty. It’s a good thing Stephanie isn’t afraid of getting a little dirty, too.

Critic reviews

"Lorelei King, who has become the voice of Stephanie Plum, will delight fans in this 30th addition to the series. King masterfully performs the quirky crew surrounding bounty hunter Stephanie, including familiar and new characters. The plot, filled with laugh-out-loud moments, follows Stephanie and her sidekick, Lula, as they track down a colorful collection of felons. Their pursuits take them to Maine and back. The regular characters all make appearances, as do endless donuts and exploding cars. King shines in her ability to differentiate male and female characters, especially the indomitable Lula. Whatever the plot, the true joy for fans lies in spending time with Evanovich's beloved characters, vividly brought to life in King's narration." (AudioFile)

Not as funny as the beginning

The first books of the series were so funny, then they became dry and this one is in the middle. I read it because I’ve read them all but honestly I would rather reread some of the earlier books

Whoa!!

As usual Janet did her thing and made this book a hit!! I was quite blown away with the ending. I only wish that Janet released two books per year for the Stephanie Plum series but me being a fan of course I'll wait!!

I never tire of Stephanie et al

Years ago, I picked up the hardcover edition of One for the Money in a bookstore at LAX. I was hooked as I read away on my flight, actually laughing out loud, undoubtedly to the probable dismay of the man next me, and I’ve enjoyed each of the subsequent books in the series. Thank you Ms. Evanovich for all the fun!

Cliffhanger Ending

I love how much Stephanie has become so efficient in her bounty hunting. Great story. I usually only read biography but I’ve been with this series since the beginning. Keep going! Don’t leave us hanging

Team Ranger

I love these characters! Ranger shows his love in so many ways & is at the ready to have her back. Love how he quietly shows his protective side of her. Can’t wait for next book & new adventure.

Still got some great one-liners

Still funny with some great one-liners, but I wish Stephanie would choose already. Maybe in 31 if there is another book.
